I boarded the OCS Axle in orbit over New California. Dr Long asked to come, she said we needed to talk about our past... Honestly, I dont know what she is talking about. I knew her for a long time, even before she got her doctorate, but as far as I remember, we didn't have that type of past. Anyway, I wandering around the hangars with a cup of coffee when I spotted a particular fighter.

A robot-pilot informed me that it was a new fighter prototype, meant to test new weapons and fuel. I don't like these "guys"... They even can't to hold their coffee cups right, and that's a prerequisite for any Octan employee ...

With experimental awesomnium enhanced weapons, experimental fuel derived from Xerillian's biomass and an experimental pilot, that mission could only go wrong. And I suspect Danielle to have anticipated that issue since she deployed on of her balls. I call balls her surveillance drones, cause they look like balls... and because I'd so like to shoot them. Having one here, recording the flight, can only mean she thinks the flight recorder might not be recovered...

Maybe I should just pilot that thing, maybe I'll have a good surprise. And I can't be worse than that discussion with Danielle...

Hahaha! That's great! I can't help but wonder if Dr. Long is actively trying to kill off any contentors to her place on the board of executives... or maybe it's just you? I love that you've mentioned they had a past. I can certainly use that in the backstory I've been working on for her.

The build itself is amazing! I love your hangar! Very industrial and Octan-licious! The drone is wonderful. I lack the transparent "camera" part, but I can certainly make a modified version for use in my own builds in the future. Simple and effective! And the ship is gorgeous! As to be expected from you, certainly, but for some reason I am still always impressed by how lovely your space fighters are! Great job, Bob!

We'll see what revelations surfaces in the next weeks

The drone is quite simple. A previous version's head just had a 2x2 white round plate and some various 1x1 round tiles.

THIS... is just awesome! That ship is SWEET!! I'm really impressed with the hanger as well. But if robots can't be trusted to hold their coffee right, what good are they?

A perfect hanger for a pretty fighter! :sweet: Good details too, I love the support equipment, the raise platform is ace, and the robot spilling the coffee (should be a fireable offence!) cracked me up.

Awesome! Love the shaping of the fighter (reminds me of a micro-scale Octan build from last week, really cool continuity regardless of it was on purpose, subconscious, or totally by accident!). Your crafts always have a great unique feel to them, never what I expect but never looking like they wouldn't work. The cockpit (the way that gray part is raised) is awesome, and I love the "power" section behind the guns. The hanger is also fantastic - I love grebbles that look like they have functions, sometimes I feel like people just pack them on without thought but I think your builds are always elevated by attention to detail, and being able to create with LEGO representations of things that mighty actually function.

This build reminds me of the Hangar E-8 build I did for SfK. Similar size and look, similar use of a hovering drone. Did you see that one, Bob? I think you'd like it.

Anyway about your build! That ship is magnificent like all your vehicles are. And I love the dorky classic look of the coffee-pouring droid. :D

Again thanks everyone

Zepher, I like what I build to have a functionnality and greebles to have a purpose. I had a very interesting discussion last year at a convention with Guss De Blöd about it when looking at his entry for SHIPtember, I was amazed by the details he put in there, like a toilet.
