Darking Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) Rey's feet and 3M shell in her arm are definitely dark brown, while Finn's hands and head are reddish brown. Huh... Around 2 years ago people complained about not having any shade of brown in CCBS pieces. Now we have 5 different shades but most of them are restrained to two or three moulds. Tan I think is the one with more variety. I don't know I just find it kind of ironic. Edited November 25, 2015 by Darking Quote
Aanchir Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Huh... Around 2 years ago people complained about not having any shade of brown in CCBS pieces. Now we have 5 different shades but most of them are restrained to two or three moulds. Tan I think is the one with more variety. I don't know I just find it kind of ironic. Reddish Brown has some decent variety. Savage Planet "paw" pieces, Invasion from Below "talon" pieces, 4M shells, 3M beams, Y-joints, and now fists. That's not counting the various pre-CCBS Ben 10 parts in that color like the 8M curved "tail" element, which is just as CCBS-compatible as the talon piece. Sand Yellow (Dark Tan) is also skyrocketing in variety starting in January, just as Brick Yellow (Tan) did when the first wave of Star Wars buildable figures came out in September. 5M shells already exist in that color. Next year we're getting the Star Wars shoulder add-ons, Star Wars torso shell, Bionicle torso shell, 2.0 torso shell, and 4M shell. Plus a few Technic panels. Quote

Shakar Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Pretty sure Kylo Ren and Phasma are 25, since they're roughly on par with Obi Wan. If Phasma is 20 Euro, though, I'm getting her for sure. Quote
Voxovan Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 They're on brickset too btw. I really don't like the fact that those figures (well, some of them) have gear functions. I appreciate the play factor, but they're making these already hardly organic-looking figures even less organic-looking :s Quote
TheGreatSpirit Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I think these figures have a lot more inside that meets the eye, esp with the new backarmor/gearbox. I think we gotta wait for reviews to come out to know what is really going on. Also I really want to try Phasma's cape on Grievous, it looks so damn regal. Quote
Voxovan Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Also I really want to try Phasma's cape on Grievous, it looks so damn regal. Her cape might be too short for him. Vader's way taller than Phasma and his cape barely does Grievous any justice. Quote
Shakar Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 The only Lego cape big enough to fit Grievous is the famous 2009 Darth Vader cape from his 2002 Technic figure/statue. Now, if I could just remember where I put it... Quote
Dr_Chronos Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 More pictures! Likely of most interest: Nice. So the sets use the 2015 gearbox with a new cover piece. There's even a new upper torso variant without the turntable. Loving these new sets, they're much more interesting than the first wave. Can't wait to pick em up. Quote

Loving these new sets, they're much more interesting than the first wave. Can't wait to pick em up. Really looking forward to the new torso. I hated the exposed balljoints on the shoulders of my 2015 Toa. Also, seems like Phasma doesn't have an arm swinging function - was really hoping that she'd have one! Quote
Logan McOwen Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) Here's an even bigger image of Rey's back. It seems the new torso bone mimics that used on the new Toa, just with a fixed pelvis and no extension for the neck joint. Bonus: Finn's back, further confirming my suspicions and also showing us how the heads are connected. Edited November 27, 2015 by Logan McOwen Quote
Voxovan Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Oh boy, that connection sure looks weird... Quote
Aethersprite Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 How is Finn's head connected to the torso? Does the new back armour come with a ball joint attachment, or is that a rendering error? Quote
Logan McOwen Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Looks like the balljoint is attached to the backplate. Quote
Shakar Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 I don't see any space for ball joints here. Seems like the gearbox cover has a pin connection, so the figures with the gearbox turn their head side to side only, like minifigs. The idea of a torso bone without arms and neck seems useful, but the way the gearbox cover has been handled is nothing short of questionable. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Official prices on these are: Rey-$19.99 Captain phasma-$19.99 Poe-$19.99 Storm trooper-$19.99 Kylo-$24.99 Finn is unknown for right now but you all can expect $19.99 Quote

Surprised that Phasma isn't also $25. Quote
Mesonak Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Yeah, I'm pretty shocked that Phasma isn't $25. I felt the cape would easily send that up. Very happy about that. Quote
Aethersprite Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I guess Kylo's more expensive than Phasma because of his gearbox. Thanks for the info! Quote
Shakar Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I noticed, Rey's arms connect directly to her gearbox, without any space for small gears, unlike Finn and the 2015 Toa. Does that mean she's using a 3M version of this? Official prices on these are: Rey-$19.99 Captain phasma-$19.99 Poe-$19.99 Storm trooper-$19.99 Kylo-$24.99 Finn is unknown for right now but you all can expect $19.99 Aaaaaaaand my point stands. I definitely have to get Phasma:-2 silver shoulder pads -2 silver leg armour pieces -2 silver 6M shells (all new and unique to this set) -4 friction extenders -2 dark bley 7M upper leg bones (still don't have any of those, and I want a bunch of them) -New Star Wars gun -That sweet cape, of course. And other fairly common but still useful parts. Though, the first report on prices listed a second $25 set. It can't be Finn, right? That'd be pretty ridiculous, but then again this is Lego "Overpriced" Star Wars.. Quote

Shakar Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I heard that rumour over 4chan, but it seemed odd. He is the only character with two weapons and a gearbox, but.. thinking of it, it's perfectly possible that this is the case. Either Finn will sell in virtue of the "Main character effect" (which I guess is what they attempted with the UK release of Luke, who was priced like Obi Wan), or he will flop horribly. Quote
TheDesuComplex Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I'm gonna get Finn and the FO Stormie at least. Finn to see how the new gearbox implementation works, plenty of dark tan bits, and because he is the main character; the Stormie will be mine simply because I'm one of the many who has fallen in love with the new design. I can tell you, the Main Character Tax being applied to Luke in the UK made Luke an absolute flop in the UK. While most retailers stock Jango, Cody and Obi-Wan (and some bigger supermarkets stock Vader as well), and they sell pretty well, I have not seen Luke anywhere outside dedicated retailers, and where I have seen Luke stocked, he's always warmed the shelf while all the other Battle Figures simply fly off the shelves. I get the impression most UK retailers don't even WANT to stock Luke. If they do the same with Finn, LEGO have obviously not learned their lesson from ^ yet... applying main character tax to a sub-par model isn't always going to work Quote

Does that mean she's using a 3M version of this? She does you can see the same part on Uniter Tahu's weapon http://images.brickset.com/sets/AdditionalImages/71308-1/71308_alt2.jpg Unfortunately it appears to be in a brown color. It annoys me so much when modern axles are in a color other than black, dark grey or light grey. The tan 5m axles with stoppers were bearable but having the 3m version be brown is going to make them stick out so much. (They could have easily made them black as they no longer make black 3m axles) On an unrelated note. I think I'm going to get not only the FE Stormtrooper but also Kylo Ren and Phasma. Quote
