ritztoys Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) Fellow builders..........my latest MOC. In the central United States some small towns have their Government buildings located in the center of town, where all the other businesses are built around the square containing the structure. This building forms my Lego town, Palm City, located in Palm County. As this is central to my 9-Volt train layout ( which is currently stored ), I didn't landscape this yet. I will finish landscaping when I have a few more buildings made for my town 'square'. Here is the inspiration for this build You can see in the background the surrounding town. I combined two Town Hall kits plus about a dozen BL orders, I have included details of a typical Court House. Beginning with the top floor, the Mayors Office As you can see from the floor mosaic, it's no secret that it's expensive to live in Palm County, as a new business owner 'tips' the mayor. Now we all know some politicians have a 'cloudy past', this mayor is no exception, check out his closet The Mayor isn't aware of his 'cloudy past' stepping all over his 'tips' as they leave his closet The Second floor is where the Mayors' and Judges' Secretary has her office with a waiting area complete with a water cooler and a coffee maker Here we see the custodian making tracks to his favorite sitting area with a cup of coffee and newspaper ready for him to enjoy The first floor has the Court and County Clerks' offices as well as a holding Cell, complete with Sheriffs and a Swat Officer for the prisoner Of course everyone needs a restroom stop sometime during the day Finally the Palm County Court Room, which is currently in session, is very crowded today I hope you have enjoyed my creation, it was a blast to create this for my future City. More details and photos @ my links If you like this, see one of the many houses I'll use in Palm City, http://bricksafe.com/files/ritztoys/Brickworld%20Indy%202015/20150314_091507.jpg Edited June 11, 2015 by ritztoys Quote
timmyc1983 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Very nice adaption of the Town Hall! I love the details of the interior tho, especially the mayor's office, very clever! I hope to see your city layout altogether one day!! Happy building Quote
ecmo47 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Did a double take on that photo of the court house as it looks very similar to my home town county seat. Great interior! The mayor has a lot of skeletons in the closet! The floor pattern sure made me chuckle. Looking forward to seeing it "in place" on your layout. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 AWESOME creation and I that someone there has somethings they want to still hide ! Brick On 'ritztoys' ! Quote
Phoxtane Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 "Skeletons? In MY closet?" It's more common than you think. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Love the detail of the interior. The dollar sign floor is really neat. A very nice MOC overall Quote
pinioncorp Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I really like this, a much more size appropriate style for the town hall. The interior details are great. My only criticism would be the printed alphabet tiles on the front, a lot of people like to label their creations with them but unless they match the style, they really cheapen the look and would look better without them. A lot of money's worth of town halls there, but definitely worth it! Quote
dr_sarcophagus Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Awesome. Such a detailed interior. And the exterior represents well the architecture of the period. Well done! Quote
ritztoys Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 @ timmyr1983............Thank-you, single sided Town Hall just didn't work for me @ ecmo47.............Thank-you, the wife a I had a laughing spell when I added the skeletons @ lightningtiger.........Thank-you, from a Master Builder as yourself @ Doctor Doom.............Thank-you @ Lego Guy Bri...........Thank-you, all of my MOCs' have interiors, just adds life. @ pinioncorp............Thank-you, yes I have to agree on the Tiles, but I'm "Sticker Challenged", I would have preferred black letters, with the brick colors showing through. Tiles easier! @ dr_sarcophagus.............Thank-you, when I saw the Town Hall kits, it was an easy match for me to create this MOC, from the local County seat building Quote
Loves Houses Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 PHANTASTIC MOC! Love the way you captured the essence with keeping the freedom to change few things - red color looks better anyway than the boring gray of the original ;-) We should suggest that to the town. Also, I was going to suggest a few minifigs outside to add a bit citi-like livelihood. But then in the original no one is there either . The interior and scenes from the court are really lovely - had a lot of fun looking at it and would imagine one can have lots of fun playing with it. Quote
ritztoys Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) I recently displayed at the Greenfield Brick Expo and properly located the Court House as it should be, in the center of Palm City. I have two more sides to fill in with more buildings to complete the square. Edited October 22, 2015 by ritztoys Quote
Brick Capone Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Fantastic! I love everything about it, nice details in all the offices, the courtroom, the bathroom, etc. Very nicely done. Quote
