Chewie cuts off all his hair and disguises himself. Vader, not bothering to use the force to find Chewie (seeing as it should be easy to find a walking carpet), completely bypasses him and keeps walking. Chewie sneaks up behind Vader, taps him on the opposite shoulder, and snags his lightsaber while he's distracted.

Suddenly, Vader figures out what's going on.

Suddenly, Vader's head rolls across the floor.

GOOooooo Underdog!

I hate to say it, having made my own attempts at long-shot battle results, but there should be some basic logic involved in this.

You don't rip the arms off a Sith, and even if you do, he still kills you with his mind.

You don't sneak up on a Sith or grab his lightsabre while he's distracted, unless you can cause the kind of distraction that involves a planet falling on him.

If you want to take one out in an unbalanced fight, at least find a known weakness and exploit it. If Chewie had hidden Vader's asthma medicine and killed him during a fit of coughing, I might buy that idea ;-)

Boba fett flies over the super battledroid. Battledroid has no idea where he is boba fett does a backflip onto his slave 1 and fires a homing missle from his backpack totally obliterating the super battledroid:)

Yep, Chewie became a Wookiee-Burger to the chef-Sith.

The next match... well we've sort of seen it before. Different outcome? YOU DECIDE. Featuring first, the Jedi Qui Gon Jinn. And his opponent, arriving on his (older model) Sith Infiltrator, its the Sith Darth Maul

Round 3, match 7: Qui Gon Jinn vs. Darth Maul (Sith Infiltrator)

While it's hard to take into account, I think in many ways it wasn't Qui Gon that lost in Episode I as much as it was the entire force conspiring against him. In order for things to progress as they needed to, he had to die, Obi Wan had to become Anakin's new master so that could get thoroughly botched up, and then the jedi all had to die.

In a direct one on one match, I think you could flip a coin to see who would win, but ultimately the universe decided this one the first time, and who can argue with the universe?

Maul wins, barely.

ImperialShadows' perspective is certainly very interesting.

When DM emerged, there hadn't been a known Sith for how-many years so non of the Jedi were prepared to deal with real-life Lightsaber duelling. The rare exception being Count Dooku who was a master of Lightsaber Form II which was for duelling. His methods were seen as archaic, though. Even those that were Lightsaber masters (Kit Kisto, Mace Windu, Yoda, Agen Kolar) woudl have been prepared for a double-bladed Lightsaber.

Its simple really: DM was prepared for that match, Qui Gon wasn't. 99 matches out of 100, DM wins. The other 1% is luck.

So Darth Maul wins an easy match.

The following is the final match of round 3. Tomorrow night, I'll announce the winner and begin a "finals" thread where we get to see how the final EIGHT contestants will square up. We're getting close to a winner now.

This match in another particularly harsh one. Introducing first arriving by Eta-2 Actis Interceptor, its Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. And his opponent, his mentor the Sith Master Darth Sidious.

Round 3, match 8: Anakin Skywalker (Ultimate Space Battle) vs. Darth Sidious (Final Duel I)

Anakin, a bit green but young and strong, the Emperor, way out of practice.

If Anakin can keep the Emperor out of his head, he can win easily. I actually think he never would have become Vader if he'd met Palpatine in his Emperor form. He would have seen through the deception and never fallen for the whole "we'll make the republic a better place" nonsense.

That said, Emperor in the corner pocket, thrown down some ventilation shaft. Anakin, sporting a new fried look, but alive.

This is tough one. As its stands, I'm going to vote Anakin. Another day and my oppininon could change. Lets see why I'm pro-Anakin today:

- He's possibly as his most powerful. Look at how easily he kills Darth Tyranus

- There's no deception here, Sidious is Sidious, not Anakin's friend and mentor

- Sidious has no Lightsaber and hasn't actually done any fighting in three movies

I think Anakin would be badly hurt. BUT he's now experience Force Lightening and and is better prepared to deal with it.

Anakin wins. Barely

Yeah, I mean, this match is basically like Darth Revan fighting Darth Malak, seasoned old Sith Lord vs. fresh young Sith Lord. The powers are the same, but the strategy proves to be the final test. Which, in the above case, involves swooping down and blasting Sidious to kingdom come which I also agree with.
