So I manage to get around $200 amazon gift card. I just purchase the http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Palace-Cinema-10232 from my trip last week, which I need to finish this week.

Now, I'm already starting to think of my next set. I already have Emp shop, and Petshop. Since, I saw a lot of you have city with train, I'm leaning to get a train set. My question is should I get the:

60052 or 60051 or something better?

Either one would used up all my gift card total =/.

In my opinion the cargo train is a better set especially at only $25 more than the passenger train these days. You get an additional car, more track (and switches), and the nice gantry crane. I also prefer the more brick built engine. However the cars are pretty bare bones and fairly unrealistic, but you could MOC something better on the bases. On the other hand I think a passenger train looks more natural if you want to run it through a city.

That question has been asked a number of times over in the train forum. You can probably find some of those threads. It depends if you like freight train or passenger train. North American style or European. There is also a new European-ish freight train set 60098 coming out. Plently of choices. Personally I found 60052 to be a good choice for MOC parts and play fun.

You'd probably need to go to Ebay or BL to get one of these, but coming from Modulars to City trains (especially the passenger trains) might leave you with a bitter aftertaste. Not only building them, but displaying them close to your Modulars. This one here is the Modular house on tracks. I know it's more money than you want to spend, but you might consider it.

Actually MSRP wise it is supposed to be $50 more, not 25. However, Amazon currently has the Cargo Train discounted down to $157 vs the $142 of the Passengar Train, making the cargo one a MUCH better deal imo.
