Richard Dower Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I spent several hours on Ebay yesterday looking through used lots, parts for sale or lots that were mislabeled etc. As a result of my hunt i managed to dig up 7 of them :-) I wish these connectors were'nt so bloody hard to find or sooo expensive, i saw some Ebay guy selling one of them for €7.50!! So if you look you might just find them.......
bonox Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 and yet there are 54 on BL, including 11 in one store for US$4. Everything you want, one seller, not that expensive, way better feedback than any likely ebay seller. Your avoidance of the most popular parts bazaar is quite amusing. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=525&colorID=5
750ACE Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Just make a saved setting alert on bricklink already. You spend way to much for all parts on ebay. Why do you keep avoiding bricklink and starting topics that clutter up this forum? The #3 red connector has been discussed over and over, please use the search button.
D3K Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) I think you'll save a lot of time as well as money by just starting to use bricklink But if you have the several hours to look for #3 red connectors, and for some reason just don't want to use bricklink, then by all means Edited May 21, 2015 by D3K
miguev Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 +1 on using Bricklink. I realize now how "lucky" I was, when I got 10 of them from bricksy ... by mistake! For "only" €4.14 each.
Anio Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I hope that you don't have too many parts left you want to put your hands on. Otherwise, the EB Technic forum will be quite flooded... [pokerface]

This is getting tiresome.
dr_spock Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 There is a buy, sell, trade forum on EB. Ebay is not the best place to shop for LEGO but it is great for cheap electronic components such as microcontrollers for a non-LEGO solution to control your Technic.
Osuharding1 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Ditto on using bricklink... deals can be found if you set up email alerts. I bought 14 used #3 red connectors from a US seller for $0.68 each back in February. Arrived safe and sound and not even dusty. Deals are on bricklink... just go look at the purchase history and you will see lots of good prices... and lots of high prices, too. Foolish to not be using BL. I'm not sure how one can be a Lego hobbyist and not use BL. Ordering parts directly from Lego will only get you so far... especially if its an older set that has the parts you want to use.

darksheep Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 By using the alert on Brick link like 750ACE and buying 2 X 8448 I have managed to get 61 of these connectors . I bough all 40 from one guys who gave me a discount for taking all of them . I had bought 3 times from him before and just asked if he would consider a discount and he agreed. So you never know if you don't ask , Plus it helps I guess that I pay with in 15 mins of getting the invoice(If I am not sleeping at the time it arrives) , witch I am told by lots of BL shops is very rare .
nerdsforprez Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 As a member of the BL community and the owner of a small store I participate regularly to the forum. I recall several forum conversations regarding the topic of bartering/requesting discounts at times. I was surprised to find that the majority of store owners do not mind discussing prices or discounts. I, personally don't consider such requests, but I was surprised to find that many don't mind them. Clarify: the BL forum (as well as the EB forum)

Wow it would be great if everyone on BL would do that. I had one person that payed only after I re-sent the invoice. I almost started a NPB.

Yip , I don't order what I don't have money fore and I always make sure I have $50 more in my Paypal account then I need for shipping or just that extra part I am going to buy . I also live in South Africa so shipping takes long and is costly so I try only order when I have $300 or more to spend (might sound like a small amount , but its a LOT of money for me) I also try to get the most I can from one shop even if its not the cheapest . In the end of the day a couple of cents extra normally but saves a lot in shipping costs . I also try to stick to the same stores if I get good service from them , one thing that bugs me is if I place and order and it takes you 3 days to invoice me , If that happens I might never by from a shop again unless their is a reason of course .

Clarify: the BL forum (as well as the EB forum) Bartering or hagging over price is normal business procedure in other parts of the world. It is not common in North America from what I understand. It doesn't hurt to ask about volume discount.
RohanBeckett Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 /notices he has 30 of these in his inventory... ....hmm.. do I really need them? ;) RB
Saberwing40k Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) Ebay is kind of useless, because you can't find parts that easily, and often times the sellers are malicious or clueless. (Not all of them, obviously.) Bricklink also usually has better prices than Ebay, so I personally only use Ebay to look for the rare thing that is much cheaper than Bricklink, or large mixed lots. Finding anything else is too much of a hassle. I do not understand why people are perfectly willing to use Evilbay, but not Bricklink, even though it is a well established site with a very good reputation, and then whine about not being able to find a part on Ebay at a reasonable price. tomek9210 Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 You can always look for parted out sets. I have bought not long time ago a 8070 set without M motor. I bought it because I wanted to use it as a base for my own supercar project, but the more I look at it, the less I like that color. So I want to sell all the red pieces and buy white instead. I wanted to post an ad in bazaar forum, but I'm not allowed to do that (how many posts do I have to post to get the access to it?). If anyone is willing to take all those red parts (connectors, soft axles, liftarms and panels), drop me a message. Anyway - the parts are out there somewhere, all you need to do it to look in right places and do it often :)

Richard Dower Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 please stop making personal attacks against me....my post was for information purposes. i am gonna have to start reporting people is these attcks continue.
rollermonkey Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 You must either be pretty sensitive if you consider that a personal attack or you don't like the individual. Every reply in this topic says essentially the same thing, "BL is better than EBay, and if you like LEGO, you should know that by now" yet you only got hurt by the last one?
D3K Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 please stop making personal attacks against me....my post was for information purposes. i am gonna have to start reporting people is these attcks continue. Jesus christ, how can you see that as an attack on your person?? All the replies in this topic have been meant as help or advise to you, so you don't need to spend too much $ on parts you can get cheaper elsewhere. Remember; you're the one who started this topic! Get your act together! If this is such a big problem to you, then take it elsewhere, as the solution is dead simple: use Bricklink!
