Quarryman Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Yuck.. Colbert said "legos" every time.. ;-) Quote
SirNadroj Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Hilarious! *y* :-D He is a brilliant artist! I had no idea those sculptures are worth $30,000! I love when Colbert spat out the water! :-D Quote
Order66 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Wow that was fantastic and hilarous! Really funny:P Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I found it kind of insulting. Mr Colbert thought he was being clever and funny while he was infact poking fun at our hobby in a demeaning way. Quote
Starwars4J Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I found it kind of insulting. Mr Colbert thought he was being clever and funny while he was infact poking fun at our hobby in a demeaning way. Well I think the goal was to 'poke fun' at our hobby as most people would, only to be shown in the end how lucrative it can be, and what nice things can be made. I do think, however, that it was done in a poor way and I ended up feeling a little insulted regardless of his intentions. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I agree to an extent. But even when he was presented with his statue I found that Colbert wasn't praising it for being LEGO but instead for being him. Quote

But even when he was presented with his statue I found that Colbert wasn't praising it for being LEGO but instead for being him. Well that was the point, he was playing the part of the egotistical fool. He was playing a part to get the audience to laugh at him since that's just in-character for him. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I've never seen Colbert Report before (live in the UK) but I can't say this has persuaded me to give it a look. Quote
