SirNadroj Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Hey again! So as most members here know, I'm usually just pirates. Then I expanded to castle. Now, I'm going to Space. This is probably one of my first space MOCs I'm showing here. This is a small Alien Outpost. It is a vignette, therefore its 8 x 8. It is inhabited by 3 friendly looking creatures. (I didn't know what to do with those silly nesquik heads! :-D ) One of the aliens is in a full space suit, the second isn't wearing a helmet (since he's inside, he doesn't need it to breathe, and the last has taken off his shirt, and is relaxing.....by enjoying a cold one X-D.) The door opens up to the right. The first floor is a 'changing' room, so to speak, since all the suits and weapons are stored there. The second floor is a 'lounge'. There is a comfy chair and a big TV. (Yes, thats an official sticker, from set #4561) Thats about it. Here are many pictures: Aleins: Thanks for checkin' this out! Heres the MOC page: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/35915 All feedback is appreciated, thanks! Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I just love the alien's faces *wub* I'm gonna get me some Nesquik heads! I get a real kick out of the shirtless one with the martini in the comfy chair..reminds me of Futurama. Very well done *y* ! Quote
Starwars4J Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Remember that in a vig you need to pack even more detail in than normal, the outpost suffers a big from the 'big grey wall syndrome' (it is grey and not bley, right?), and since this is space remember that you need to greeb it up. Well you don't need to, but at least put more textures and the like in, on a small vig greebs are a very good idea though. Also put something else by the entrance, I doubt three aliens need what looks like four guns :-D Unless that black bar is a 'coatrack' in which case it needs something more to make it easy to tell what it is. It must be a dangerous area they live in to need all those weapons! X-D The chair is great, but I feel bad for their poor backs! Similar why isn't the TV in a place that makes it easy for them to watch? It's like sitting in the first row of a movie theatre :-P And a rewn wood floor on a space outpost? Classy :-P Overall not bad, can't wait to see what other spacey creations you'll post! Quote
Shadows Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 It's cute. No, really, it is. Oh geez, at least I didn't point and say that... >:-) That's a lot packed into a small space, and yet Starwars4J is right, it needs something more. Maybe some keypad type panels somewhere inside, like next to the door (inside and out) and on that wall across from Hinkley (that is Hinkley, lounging around with the martini, right?) ;-) Seems like it needs a hot tub too. Not sure why, but I'm figuring these are some party aliens. Great use of the nesquick head, btw. I've been trying to figure out something to do with those since I bought a pile. Looking forward to more of your creations! Quote
SirNadroj Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 Thanks everyone. I did want to keep it simple, but I guess it ended up too simple :-D . This is one of my first space MOCs, too, so go easy on me! :-D Imperial Shadows: I almost put a hot tub in, too! There was not enough room, but its funny we thought the same thing! X-D Quote
iamded Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I don't think it's too simple, I think it's great! The aliens are ingeneious, the head fits well for an alien and the use of that silver stud is great. Now I know what that creature in the left of your sig is! The building is great, it all looks very nice together, and the roof is sweet. You've certainly done a great job for a vignette! *y* *y* Quote
Starwars4J Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Don't get me wrong, I DO think it's great *sweet* Just trying to give some tips to someone who seems like they want to venture into Space MOCs ;-) Quote
SirNadroj Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 Thanks everyone. I was just sayin', I don't take any offense to contructive critisim. ;-) Quote
