Looks great! Also, the photography is great! And the frame? Great! The stability? Great! Getting more parts? Great! The final product? It'll be great!

Thanks! I used my DIY PVC light box when taking photos of the model! Additional parts will be coming tomorrow around 4:00PM (EST)! I can vision the final product debut not too long from now—next week perhaps!

If I would hold on to anything from "The Lego Movie," it's the fact that: "Everything is awesome!"

Great start! I want more pictures!

Thanks! I'll have pictures of more progress to show once more parts arrive in sometime today—in the meantime I am watching the original trilogy over again!

A package came in!

Contrary to my anticipation of receiving two, I am nevertheless glad one came in—and hey that's three out of seven! Even then, the ones I was talking about will be scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Simply, what came includes every orange element to highlight the aircraft and some of the dark elements required for the heatsink.

I learned something today from Technic Bush 1/2 Toothed Type II (4265b), you can't center bars or other stick-like things in the middle of this particular part. Contrary to my observation, I assumed it featured the new X style opening like its regular counterpart (4265c)—the style was similar but lacked certain aspects to be used the way I desired it.

Forgot to show this, but here I have added the appropriate details to the nose…

19594359585_0d57b1f704_c.jpg

Instead of using the two 4 x 2 wedge plates, I swapped it out with a 4 x 4 wedge plate, so that the underlying color (dark bluish gray) of the plate (2 x 2) is matching with the color (dark grey) of the grille element. I think the alteration turned out fantastic! Oh and did you notice I added a control stick?

See you soon.

my favourite star wars ship. I dont usually post (am a viewer) but just wanted to say this is amazing. its a great combination of a few good designs that i think comes out greater than the sum of its parts. looks like a small scale UCS. hope you sell the designs to this as i want it.

Thank you. I appreciate your positive feedback. Likewise, I too am impressed with how the design turned—truly remarkable. The build is sturdy; a trait that can be liken to the products of LEGO, despite being comprised of 500 pieces. It's a phenomenal experience to build (one that I am still in the progress of), and I know others would see it the same once I make the design available. Though I don't know about selling it—wouldn't know how to go about doing, but one thing is for sure it would need professional-made instructions, so it is easy to follow.

Hi everyone.

I wanted to inform all that after serious reconsideration of the harpoon gun (that infamous radio :head_back:), I am resettling on the double barrel space gun paired with binoculars.

Also in those moments of reconsideration, I also tinkered a bit and made up some other weapons which could be useful for minifigures. Take in note, I did not take inspiration from anyone's design. If there is any resemblance it's merely a coincidence. Thank you.

I don't have any real updates on the progress of the snowspeeder (I don't think mail is delivered on Sundays).

Until then,

See you soon!

I really like those guns! I made 30 or so awhile ago but I never got around to taking pictures of them. Maybe now I can hammer out a few more designs and then take some pics. So, thanks for the inspiration!

Glad you find them inspirative! Feel free to use any of them when suited. As well I look forward to seeing your pics!

"Thank the maker," another package came in!

Excitement overcame me and I forgot to take photos of the bagged parts—oops

But nice progress is being made here…

As you can see by the size of the trooper holding the radio, the snowspeeder is quite large.

Hope you have enjoyed the update!

I didn't realize how much I like the heat sink! It looks fantastic! I'm also really digging the size. I like me a meaty ship. And the nose looks really slick. Keep the updates coming!

What's not to love about a sizable, robust build—it's going to look like a stale, oversize, flying, nacho after it's done! Glad you like the nose and heat sink too!

Greetings everyone.

I want to announce that I require two more packages with about 174 parts altogether, to render the snowspeeder completed.

Until then, what I have for you to see today is no other than the (snowspeeder pilot) Luke Skywalker minifigure himself…

19698719715_4c79e1e4a2_c.jpg

Before I place him in the speeder, I just wanted to say that this is my personal favorite incarnation of this character—he has a reasonable amount of printed details (not too cluttered), he has the right glove color (white), and unlike the most recent release of this minifigure (75049-1), who has those odd cheek lines that makes him look old.

19672495416_bc748c9ff0_c.jpg

I am fond of how clearly you can see Luke pilot the snowspeeder from the sunscreen.

Below you can glimpse the height of the aircraft.

Now yes, I know Luke did not pilot a snowspeeder with orange markings, but who ever cared about this with the original snowspeeder back in 1999 and its reboot in 2003?

Hope you have enjoyed!

Well, I'll be darned. I never noticed that before! Was it Hobie that drove the ZZ Top variant? I've been enjoying the progress and look forward to the finished model.

The set 8089-1 "Hoth Wampa Cave?" I actually presume that pilot to be Zev Senesca, flying as "Rogue two." This is plausible as he led the patrol sent out to locate Skywalker & Solo, after both failed to return to Echo Base before nightfall—this would be the plot of the referred set (minus Solo). Later on during the battle of Hoth, Rogue two formed up with Skywalker in a effort to disable a AT-AT by exploit with the harpoon cable—he ultimately failed and perished along with his gunner.

Looking back on that set, I hope Lego's upcoming snowspeeder releases features variants with the orange markings—I kinda miss seeing them after the last one was back in 2010.

Great to here you are enjoying the progress—it helps me appreciate how prompt I started the build after the designing.

It looks very nice! I'm so excited to see the final result! Also, what was the total cost for this? I wanna try my hand at building this at some point.

Thanks! The total cost was about $96.82 the last time I checked (I think I had a few parts already at the time), I ordered from a total of seven stores (exclude one, which just had a minifigure), and had some rare items such as most of the dark grey elements. Regarding acquiring the pieces, I exported the LDD file into a LDraw life ("Thank the maker" this is a possibility with LDD), opened the new file in Brickstock (highly recommend if you are a Mac user) and made the corrections regarding part numbers/colors (easy fix), and generated a wanted list of all the parts.

It's perhaps possible, you could get it for less if you plan to get particular parts in newer molds and colors.

Any updates ?

Glad you've asked! I was beginning to feel a bit bored waiting on the last packages, and without any new comments to read, or anyone to converse with about the snowspeeder. I have made a few updates, exclusively to the cockpit. What I have accomplished in this area recently is that I replaced the clear windscreen & hinge plate set with panels like in the front of the cockpit. I then lowered those panels bordering the body by one plate. Therefore, the arms of the crew can be lowered quite more, as opposed to before their arms were raised as if they lost control of air craft and began to panic. However, this does create an unsightly gap between the canopy and the body, but, this will be gracefully covered by angle of the wings. In addition to the canopy I made the connection to the body more simplistic—to cut down on a few pieces and make the build exceedingly more sturdy and exciting for others to build too!

Fellow Eurobricks members, we're on on the heels of completion.

Another package came in—that's six out of seven.

And there's a genuine since of pleasure with this package—that feeling when the package with the bulk of your needed parts comes in—the package that could set you for hours with all the pieces contained.

164 parts came in and now I can move on to the wings!

WHOSE EXCITED AS I AM! :excited:

I AM!!!! :excited: Everything looks great so far. I really wanna build it now, funds permitting. Are a lot of the parts common? I could probably scrape some of it together from spare parts if so.
