SirNadroj Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Hey everyone! This is a village I've made. I have actually had all the buildings made, but I layed them out different, and worked on the foliage, and the river. There are five buildings, including two mills. There is also a small marketplace. Yes, I condensed it as much as I could to save space! :-D Pictures next to King's Keep: Here's the MOC Page: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/35508 Thanks for looking, and all feedback is appreciated. Also, keep your eyes open for King's Keep! Quote
Lord Beckett Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Really nice once more, Sir Nadroj. I love how the houses are built. Really cool. *y* *y* *y* Just one thing: you should perhaps add a small bridge to the village. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted August 15, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted August 15, 2007 The fact that the houses are so condensed makes this MOC very realistic. In medieval villages, often all the building were very close to each other. I also like the look of building, the colors, ... . All very well done. No negative remarks from my side ;-) Quote
Starwars4J Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 It's very nice, but I think some brown along the river banks might help with the realism. Similarly, the windmill probably won't get much use with all the holes in it from the ladder :-P And the waterwheel is clever, some paddles might help I do like the cluttered aspect of it, keep it up *y* Quote
Timento Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Very nice, SirNadroj :-) I like the houses, the waterwheel, the statue... It's *y* *y* *y* from me... I will comment the keep in your other thread ;-) Quote
Sir Dillon Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 This is very nice, Sir Jordan. Like the others mentioned, I like how everything is so tightly packed. The statue in the center is a neat touch, and I like the angle you've put the yellow building in. I don't really like how the blue building is sticking off the baseplate, though. It also seems strange to have two windmills so close to each other... The castle is also pretty cool. You've got some good landscaping going on. The towers though, look very bad in my opinion. They look like they're falling off. :-/ Quote
SirNadroj Posted August 15, 2007 Author Posted August 15, 2007 Thanks everyone! The towers though, look very bad in my opinion. They look like they're falling off. :-/ They're supposed to be like that to look cartoonish. Look here: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...=0entry185116 Quote
iamded Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I can happily say there's nothing wrong with this in my opinion! The windmill, the statue, the tree, the peasant relaxing and having a bite to eat, it's all wonderful. I'm a bit confused about the King's Keep thought. The towers are very original, but, well, in my opinion it just looks a it strange. But the guy going over the waterfall, hilarious. :-D Great job! *y* *y* Quote
Shadows Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Very nice village! *y* I like the tight pack, the assortment of styles, and the attention to detail. Those towers, though intentional, do throw me off a bit, but I can see the influence. It's funny how one small thing stands out in most models, and in this one, for me, it's the water. The boat going over the falls looks wonderfuly precarious, and the guy swimming/bathing is a nice touch, especially since he's wearing his helmet ;-) Great work! :-) Quote
Wout Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 He, that's very nice *y* :-) I like the cartoonish detail Quote
Legocastlegirl Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 As a absolutely Tudor Style Fan i love your little Village very much *wub* It looks so real for me, many houses at a really small space. I Quote
Asuka Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Very nice, with some neat mills and a very good waterwheel and some fine landscaping. *y* A very lively scenery indeed! :-D Quote
zouave Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 This appears to at the end of the roman empire. I really like the water wheel. *wub* The castle is a bit wierd though. :-| Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I really like these buildings. They really make a nice addition to your keep. I esp. like the mill with water wheel and the yellow corner building. The size of the buildings and how you arrayed them really works well. Overall, an excellent job! Quote
