suenkachun Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) While building with LDD today, I noticed two different ways of hanging Plates/Flat Tiles on walls. (NOTE: Images have been removed for now.) The first method is to use angular plates (1.5 Bolt. 1x2 1/2; 1,5 Top 1x2 1/2 or 1x2 1/2) together with two Plates near it on the wall then attach the Plates/Flat Tiles on top of the Angular Plates. The Second method is to use Bricks With Knobs on the walls then attach the Plates/Flat Tiles on top of the Knobs. From my observations, the first method secures the Plates/Flat Tiles in a better way on the wall, but there is a distance between the two; while the second method works perfectly when hanging Round Plates/Flat Tiles (without the square/rectangular shapes behind), but the Plates/Flat Tiles are less secured. Comment to share the method you prefer or your own solution! Edited May 1, 2015 by suenkachun Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 For me it really depends on the build and the parts at hand, like in some spots you don't want the extra stud difference from the plate or vice versa. Overall I'd rather use the brick with side studs because its easier to secure, but each has it's strengths and weaknesses Quote
dr_spock Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) You can also use technic bricks and 1/2 pins Edited April 30, 2015 by dr_spock Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I would probably prefer bricks with knobs because if you used the angular plates, then that would increase the height of the top of that section by 1/3 of a brick. If I am trying to close the area up above that section with bricks, I would have to stack 2 plates to even it out, which requires more parts overall. Quote
suenkachun Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 You can also use technic bricks and 1/2 pins I never thought of that, so thank you for your idea! However, this will increase the number of Bricks used, therefore as AFOLguy1970 mentioned above, using the Bricks With Knobs saves the most Bricks. Quote
