kangmingjie Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 This is the first MOC I've posted on Eurobricks. If I've done something wrong, please let me know how to fix it. This is a story based MOC, so get ready for lots of pictures. Somewhere near the Bay of Storms, Mitgardia... The sound of clanging steel echoes throughout the small ravine. Thyrren, a Yeti warrior that once served as a mercenary in Kaliphlin, trains a young warrior. "An excellent parry!" says Thyrren. "However..." He delivers a kick to the unbalanced pupil. "... do not be too eager to sacrifice your footing to make a kill. A true Okatowan swordsman values patience before victory." "The clan chiefs always taught me to win at all costs." says the student. "Then again," he continues. "if I cold use magic, this fight would have been over long before it began. I had another dream last night about-" "That's enough!" says Thyrren sternly. "These childish ideas of sorcery and spells must be left behind or you'll never progress as a true warrior, Norak." he says. "But think of all the warriors that would fall before they could even come close!" says Norak. "If I were a powerful enough sorcerer, I bet I could challenge Jarl Nibelung himself." he continues. "Then challenge him you must, lest your talent be wasted on patience and long suffering..." says a mysterious voice. Norak's head becomes enveloped in an excruciating pain. "Oh no!" says Thyrren. "It is as we feared." The old yeti looks to find the source of Norak's torture. He discovers a strange, scaled being spying on them. "Who are you?" Thyrren demands. The stranger jumps down and attacks. Thyrren's attack is blocked as he is pushed back by the assailant. Despite the pain, Norak attacks quickly, but the scaled being is much faster than he anticipated. He is struck in the jaw by the assailant's staff. "Patience, young one. Your liberation is nigh." says the stranger. "Master Thyrren," the stranger sneers. "Did you really think you could conceal him from me forever?" "The boy has done you no harm! Leave him be!" shouts Thyrren. "Oh, I shall, but not until I finish you off!" the stranger shouts back. The crystal on the end of his staff begins to glow. "Master!" shouts Norak. "No!" Just as the flames erupt from the end of the staff, Thyrren leaps up and casts a shield charm. "Well now, it appears you are still full of surprises!" laughs the stranger. Before the assailant can do anything else, Thyrren uses his magic to push him against the rocks and begins freezing him in place. "But.. but you said sorcery was forbidden!" says Norak. "I'll explain later, boy. Get to safety!" shouts Thyrren. "He lies!" shouts the stranger. "All your life he has lied to you! You are destined to be great! You are meant to become a wizard to rival the mages of days long past! Now seize this moment and end your slavery to the yeti!" "Norak, get to safety now!" shouts Thyrren as the stranger laughs hysterically. The young Mitgardian's life flashes before his eyes. For as long as he can remember, every time he has ever mentioned magic he was immediately hushed. Deep down he knows that he's always been different, yet under Thyrren's tutelage, he felt repressed and even sometimes angry. Realizing that his master has lied to him regarding magic fills Norak with a rage unlike any other he has felt before. He picks up his sword... ... and strikes at Thyrren. "Norak! Wait-!" pleads the yeti. His plead goes unnoticed as Norak's blade cuts deep into his chest. Thyrren falls back, his crimson life force spilling onto the rocks as the stranger breaks free from the ice. "Good, Norak... Very good..." says the stranger. "Now, feel the hatred swell within you. Feel your hands begin to burn..." "You lied to me! For as long as I've known you magic has always been forbidden for our warrior ways, but it turns out that it's only forbidden for me! Why?!" Norak shouts. "Everything I did was for your protection, Norak." wheezes Thyrren. "There is so much left for us to do." "Enough! I'll not suffer another one of your lies ever again!" screams Norak. He closes his eyes as he feels his hands fill with a burning sensation. "Norak..." says Thyrren, barely louder than a whisper. "You were meant to be so much more..." He unleashes a fire storm on the old yeti. The stranger lets out a twisted laugh as he watches Norak's face contort in anger. Soon, all that remains of Thyrren is a pile of ashes. "You have done well, my brave apprentice." says the stranger soothingly. "Very well indeed." "The yeti was a fool to deny you your true powers. Someday, you will have no need for a sword." he says. "... he lied to me... Everything I know is a lie..." says Norak, almost to himself. "Mitgardia is no place to develop your talents. Come, we must go." says the stranger. "Where are we going?" asks Norak. "To the pure realm of Nocturnus. We have much to prepare before the world becomes ready for you." says the stranger. The wind begins to pick up in the ravine. The ashes start to be swept away. Norak follows his master through the mountains. As a member of Nocturnus, he is in constant danger as he heads south along the coast, but the Bay of Storms is a long way from the dark realm and news of Thyrren missing will spread fast throughout eastern Mitgardia. dartmar Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Nice story, can't wait for the rest. And nice work using Lego for the special effects. Quote
robuko Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Great story, outstanding photography. Welcome to Nocturnus bwahahahah Quote
Bregir Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 While the build is nice, what really steals the show is the action going on. Especially posing, brickbuilt magic effects and story telling is great, and I can't wait to see where this is leading - although he seems to have taken the path of darkness! Welcome to your guilds - all you need to do now, is to present your sig fig in the guild sign up thread (probably for Nocturnus) to complete your sign-up. Quote
