Orange Leader Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I want to venture into brickfilms and I want to start out with a webcam, as many stopmotion animators are (personally) suggesting It for beginners. My problem is, I'm a Mac OS X user and standalone webcams that support manual settings are hard to come by. I know you can use a driver such as Macam, that supports many non-Mac webcams, but Macam does not support manual focus, from what I have seen so far. So, are there brickfilmers out there that use Mac OS X for their brickmovies? Manual settings for brightness, colour and focus are obviously for animation a must. Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I do use OSX but I don't use a webcam. I find them difficult to get acceptable quality out of, mostly due to shoddy manual control. Have you considered going with a pocket camera? I use the Canon G12 but there are many options out there. Quote
Orange Leader Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) Thanks for your reply, Darkdragon. I believe pocket camera's are not an option because of my budget. I should be specific about the budget I'm aiming for: from €40,- to €90,-. Edited April 24, 2015 by Orange Leader Quote
