42009 at the AlexanderPlatz KaufHof im Berlin

I was in Berlin last June (2014) and took the pictures below. I somehow had forgotten about them. Yes, it's a very large Technic 42009 Mobile Crane that is built entirely with System only bricks. Enjoy!

Pictures are a bit large, even though I scaled them down by a factor of 3.

I have seen a huge replica of the 8258 but I think this one is bigger. Who makes those replicas?

Wow - I can only start to guess at how many people and how much time are involved in making things of this scale! Brick wheels and pistons fer peat's sake. It's brilliant

I saw the same model last year in Oberhausen, Germany, in the Galleria Kaufhof shop. I suspect they have some kind of robotic arm to assemble these kind of big models.

Last year or the year before there was a life-size model of the 8880 at Legoworld in Holland so there must be some one who knows more about the huge replica.

@vliet that one is already very old, I remember an article in KIJK in the nineties about that model. It was indeed huge.
