mpfirnhaber Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Does anyone have info on these? When they were produced, where they were used? I assume they were provided to retailers as decoration, but I'm not certain. Thanks! Quote
Ambo100 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) I'm fairly sure they are Retail Display items, if they are 25 x 50 x 17.5 cm (9.8 x 19.7 x 6.9 inches) then they must be these. There aren't many for sale on Bricklink but they seem highly valued. The ones in the picture look like they're in a great condition. If you could find a buyer, you might be able to sell each one for £50+. (Although I would personally keep them) Edited April 18, 2015 by Ambo100 Quote
mpfirnhaber Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Thanks. I've seen the Bricklink entry but it doesn't say too much about them. I'm keeping them for sure, I've been wanting one for a while and I got a very good deal on this set of four :) Quote
LEGO Historian Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 mpfirmhaber, I've notice super-sized bricks produced by TLG as far back as 1960 at the Nuremberg Toy Fair.... Quote
paul_delahaye Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I keep hinting to my local toy shop that has some of those oversized bricks and some of the oversized minifigures, that they need a new home, Quote
rollermonkey Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Please tell me that they can be clicked together! Quote

I've seen photos of some with the old stud logo, so I knew they've been around for a while. Please tell me that they can be clicked together! Yep. I can't build much with just 4 bricks though :) Quote

Breakdown Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Looks dangerous. For your own safety I would send these to my house immediately Quote
Deathleech Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the set? Quote
kinggregus Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Yep. I can't build much with just 4 bricks though :) Well, you still have 119,580 possible combination. Would you mind trying them out? Look at this post from Lasse. Quote
Deathleech Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I got all four for $80 :) Sounds like an amazing deal. You paid for all of them what others are selling a single brick for! Yours also look to be in better condition. Excellent score! Quote
mpfirnhaber Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 I just wish my wife liked them as much as I do ;) Quote
tuskel Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 You need to incorporate them into furniture or sth... Like, use them as seats, then your wife will be fine with them. tuskel, sincerely Quote
mpfirnhaber Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Sounds ideal, but they're very thin and light, they wouldn't hold any weight. I would have to cut them open and build an internal frame for each one. Quote
Pugl Posted September 7 Posted September 7 They are compatible with the lego brick boxes as well btw, i have a huge build in my room made with 15 pieces Quote
