Sariel Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Hi guys, Sbrick is finally about to get 1.0 control app for Android, which comes with a new firmware too. I had a chance to test it before the launch and it's much better than what we had before: Quote
D3K Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Good news, I just got my SBrick two days ago, downloaded the app, and it crashes every time I try to discover SBrick (Sony Z1 Compact). In other words; utterly useless in its current state. Hope this fixes things, can't wait to try it out Quote
Jay Psi Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) The profile designer is exactly as I imagined it. Honestly the profile and connection issues (HTC One M7) made the app too annoying for me to use so the simplifications are welcome. Looking forward to giving the SBrick a proper go now. Edit - I seem to have come across the endless update loop that a lot of people are experiencing with their Sbricks. I don't mean this to be a complaint, but a heads-up that there are (obviously) still issues as this is a beta update. Edited April 10, 2015 by Jay Psi Quote
fred-eric Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) This version is a good step like v0.8 but I am still looking forward next releases with the features already implemented in the ios version Edited April 10, 2015 by fred-eric Quote
Graydingo Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Just made my own custom profile. It's easy and quick! Thanks Sbrick people! Quote
Captainowie Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Hmm, interesting. Is there no capacity to make a profile local to your device? Or do you require the web app (and hence an Internet connection) to create anything? Owen. Quote

So you have to login to the social.sbrick.com site, and then create a profile on their web app. When you login into your phone app, you can download the custom profile. Quote
fred-eric Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Before starting a new profile you have to select the correct device screen ratio otherwise you will not see it in my profiles. This can also be a little problem if you are using devices with different ratio Quote
miguev Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 (edited) There should be a new version next week, I'll wait for it rather than take chances with the endless update loop... EDIT: Couldn't wait for it, thanks Sariel for the screencast video, it clarified quite a few things and encouraged me to update. First firmware updated failed and I though "oh no, stuck in the infinite update loop, me too" but then 2nd attempt succeeded. Failed meaning the old firmware was still running, which you can tell because the LED is not on all the time, i.e. you can tell you're running the new firmware because the LED is on all the time. I still found a few issues, posted them in the SBrick forum Android app topic. Edited April 11, 2015 by miguev Quote
