bemuser Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Whilst searching through my old Lego box, I found two windows which are not compatible with Lego, and feature "+" knobs instead of "o" knobs. There's no brand name on them, and I don't have any other pieces of this shape. They date to mid-late 70's - 80s. Any ideas? Quote
Bennemans Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I've got some of those as well! Would love to know where they come from too... Quote
Boxerlego Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Looks like Technic axle are the studs here. Do these Axle stud fit with Technic. My guess is that it is some very old LEGO parts but because there is no logo, it could be from something else. Quote
bemuser Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Didn't give it a thought, just tried the studs with Technic, and no joy. These are slightly too big for Technic. Quote
LEGO Historian Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) It's not LEGO.... I was just looking at the 2 dozen clones that I reference in one of my LEGO Collectors Guide Appendices.... and these aren't shown.... Sigh..... Googling "LEGO Clones" no longer produces the desired results..... https://www.google.com/search?q=LEGO+clones&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=3Q0nVY2XN8zuoASx1YHgCA&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg&biw=1280&bih=923 Edited April 9, 2015 by LEGO Historian Quote
bemuser Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Yep, I too was disappointed with that "Lego Clones" search! Trying to think of alternatives didn't produce anything useful either Quote
bemuser Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Some research: I found Betta Bilda - a UK Lego clone - the top of the windows are round, but the bottom "hooks" of the windows look similar - so maybe it's an early form of it? http://www.historia.com.pt/legos/clones/texts/bettabilda.htm Quote
mpfirnhaber Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 It's Polly, a German brand from the 70s. It was marketed in the US as Polly Hobby. Strangely, only the windows and doors have the cross-shaped studs. The bricks and plates have round studs. Even stranger, this brand is designed to be built studs-down :) Quote
