SuRrEaLNJ Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I really dont moc enough. Im trying to remedy that. Click for more on my flickr Octan Sponsored Gran Touring style race car. Model is supposed to be of a factory grand touring type race car. Intended to be a large american v8 sports car front engine rear drive configuration. This started out as a mod for 60053 that I was working on but lost interest on. Upon seeing Henrik Hoexbroe's Mega Moc 2014 I found renewed interest in the project, and thus theres a lot of obvious inspiration taken from his designs, most notably in the hood and rear fenders. (its flattery, i assure you) I did opt to build most of the car using traditional methods, and its heavy but sturdy (minus the side skirts). The only thing remaining from my original mod is the rear light and exhaust arrangement. Coments and critiques welcome. Quote
no7erics Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Looks like some pretty nifty SNOT work at the rear. Those (brick built) fenders are sharp too, they give the car some very distinct lines. Keep it up, I'm actually already anxious to see what you'll come up with next! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Went with an Octan sponsored theme Oh, yes, of course! Quote
Bornin1980something Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Nicely Americanized. Could be the US entry at the Speed Champions course. However, if it is to be a GT class racer (based on a road car) it would need yellow headlights. Quote

SuRrEaLNJ Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) However, if it is to be a GT class racer (based on a road car) it would need yellow headlights. My knowledge of road racing is limited. It only is because I built a yet to be posted civialianized version as well, and therefore has a road car. I can easily swap the headlights to be correct though. Ha! -Flattery will get you nowhere, -but please dont stop! Nice car. At first I thought it was one of my own... Thanks for the mention! I tried to pm you to let you know, but I get an error message with the pm system here. I couldn't use (rip off) as much of your work without a mention. I did also do a gt2 car of yours in similar livery that was modded to fit a mini fig. What can I say I like your style. Edited April 4, 2015 by SuRrEaLNJ Quote
