Minifig Lecturer Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 (edited) I found this on the BBC and thought it was pretty funny. The BBC writes "A huge Lego toy has mysteriously appeared on Zandvoort beach in Holland. Nobody knows where it comes from. " Link to BBC News Reuters report: AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - A giant, smiling Lego man was fished out of the sea in the Dutch resort of Zandvoort on Tuesday. Workers at a drinks stall rescued the 2.5-metre (8-foot) tall model with a yellow head and blue torso. "We saw something bobbing about in the sea and we decided to take it out of the water," said a stall worker. "It was a life-sized Lego toy." A woman nearby added: "I saw the Lego toy floating towards the beach from the direction of England." The toy was later placed in front of the drinks stall. Edited August 7, 2007 by Calvin Quote

Quarryman Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 D'oh !!See I was even too lazy to try and read :-P But tks for pointing out those nice hotties next to that MF ;-) *yoda* Seems like being a huge minifig is a good way to get ladies.. perhaps they believe a huge MF has a huge... :-P And I really wish my understanding of Dutch was a bit better than "very basic". From what I see on http://www.egoleonard.com/opreis.html I gather that Ego Leonard was supposed to have been at different festivals in The Netherlands this summer, first at Dance Valley. As far as I can see it's not a long trip from the Dance Valley location to the beach where he was found, around 10-15 km I think. Still, Dance Valley was three weeks ago, so something must have happened in between ;-) (egoleonard.com is registered by someone in Utrecht btw, and hosted in Steenbergen. Yes, I'm a bit bored here.. :-D) Oh well, guess we'll have to wait for one of the Dutch guys to translate for us.. anyone Dutch: pretty pretty please with studs on top? :-) Quote
snefroe Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 well actually it's a "feel good" site, grasping the TT-spirit of "Smile, it's good for you" X-D nothing lego to it, honestly... Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 This is disturbing. I can't say much about it other than that it is disturbing. I don't know why, but it makes me feel like there's a bomb in that figure, waiting for the most people to be gathered around it. 8-| Quote
maiq the liar Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 I want it... of course, then again, i would have a heck of a time fitting it in my room. Quote
Wout Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 We gaan naar Zandvoort, Al aan de zee *sing* (translation: We are going to Zandvoort, by the see, Dutch song from the+/- 50's) Via Ego leonard you come on a site from Globalicious. A think Positive site to help governments more think about some 2015 better world plans. He says also something about the virtual reality and that people want to be more in virtual reality, but the real world is also be worth to care about (I hope you can understand it) I read on lowlug or de bouwsteen that this legoguy is also on Secondlife. Siegfried Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Sorry to revive a old topic, but did anyone do anything with him yet or is he still there? Did Lego state anything? I believe it was an art project and nothing to do with TLC. Quote
iamded Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 :-D There's a giant Lego man in the Martin's Toy-world in Wellington. Well, one of the Toy-worlds anyway. I went down there in the holidays for a week at my friend's place, and we always get new Lego when I go down there (my only friend who's still into Lego, and he lives a seven hour drive away! :'-( ) I noticed a giant Lego man standing behind the counter, this one I believe had a cap (Lego of course). He wasn't as big as this one, but he was about as tall as me, if memory serves me well. I don't know, I can't really remember it, but I'll be sure to take a photo of it next time I go down. And he was plastic. It was neat. And I got my first Exo-force set that day. :-D Quote
