RO_DanyeL Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Hello , I am quite new on this forum , but i decided to show my last creation here. i am a fan of heavy duty european trucks , and i started to build one , so far i've made the base of it and i have to make small changes to it in order to make it look more realistic and bring it as close as possible to the real one. so far i made the truck , trailer , and managed to make it fit in different configurations like the real one. Here are some pics. i know that the colors don;t really match.. but i have a limited number of pieces and they are not even entirely original lego. i hope that it does not bother you. Fell free to cricisize and give me your feedback , any sugestions are welcome and i will post updates of the build if you wish. Quote
LittleJohn Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Looks great so far! I really like the trailer Quote
Kiwi_Builder Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Good job The upper grille on the DAF's cab is great, but the lower grille and headlight set needs improvement though. Keep up the good work! Quote
RO_DanyeL Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 quick update Modified the trailer a little biit and now it looks a bit better also sarted building a crawler crane. that's a variant of the body car Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Not bad at all 'RO_Danyel'......though is it a twin steer prime mover ? If so then the second set of steer wheels are set too close to the rear drive wheels. Still excellent designing......and great trailer too. Brick On 'RO_Danyel'.......keep on truckin' ! Quote
RO_DanyeL Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) thank you :) i know , but that's all i could come up with (for now) here is a little update to the crawler crane body car. Edited March 24, 2015 by RO_DanyeL Quote
Kiwi_Builder Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 though is it a twin steer prime mover ? If so then the second set of steer wheels are set too close to the rear drive wheels. I think he built it like that because in Europe the axle configurations are slightly different from ours, the second steer axles in Europe are in the rear axle set generally. Whereas ours are up front. Quote
RO_DanyeL Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 i don;t really like the look of that. looks unfinished and bulky Quote
ER0L Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Doesn't look unfinished in my view, plus such a big rig may look a bit bulky. I think you did a great job here (though in my opinion plain 8w trucks are too large for City surroundings, but that's a different story). I especially like the modular design of the trailer. A tip would be to cover the trailer with some tiles to get a smoother look. And these tires would probably look better on the prime mover than the ones you have chosen. Looking forward to more vehicles from you! Quote
pigpen Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Looks Great, I also do Heavy Transport MOC's but in city scale. What you have done is great, I would love to see a dolly / goose neck added in. I think that would just put the cherry on top, along with smaller diameter wheels on the trailer. Quote
RO_DanyeL Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 built a second cab for a new truck , using the same design as the first one, but in different colors and i made it a super space cab. i have to modify some little things and think os a better design of the front Quote
