HawkLord Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Don't know if this might help, but twice now I've had good experience with asking store associates for bricks not on their PaB wall. Yesterday, I was looking for some green 2x4s and didn't dind any on the wall. I asked an associate and they pulled out some green 2x3s from behind the counter. Not a complete match, but useful. So, if you don't so a brick you need, they may have past bricks in the back. Quote
legoman19892 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Depends on the store set up and manager. Quote
dr_spock Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Also how busy the store is. I usually go when the store is not busy. The staff seems more than happy when things are slow to show me a list of what they have and take stuff out from the back. Plus it is much nicer to pack the cups in relative quiet and space to move. TheLegoDr Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Precisely. If a store is busy, they probably don't want to linger in the back too often. Every time I've been in a store they are very adamant about being on the floor to keep an eye on all of the customers. They seemed rather nervous at this one Chicago store I went to. Maybe they have a history of people trying to steal? But it's in a mall, so relatively safe I'd think. Quote

I think you hit the stealing...I went to the Lego Store and they are only leaving 1 of each of the $150 or more sets on the shelves. But, as far as pieces on the wall. I try asking the cashiers and Store Managers. I think it totally depends on the manager thats on duty and the size of the crowd in the store. Sometimes they go get special pieces in the back for me so I have first pick, then they fill the wall. Others will treat me like a "tourist" or someone that doesn't visit as much not knowing I am a frequent buyer :) Edited March 26, 2015 by KringlesBricks Quote
HawkLord Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 When I went recently, the store was packed, but they were able to check behind the counter by where they keep the promo stuff and whatnot. If they had to go in the back, they probably wouldn't have because how many people were there. Quote
