WesternOutlaw Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Over the past few years, I've attempted to design a good Lego Wild West building window using a few different techniques. I want a window that is rather tall and has four panes. The traditional 4-pane Lego window is too short, but stacking one on top of the other doesn't work well either. Here's a few images of what I'm trying to design (the windows that is): The only thing that I came up with was a combination of 4 2x2 windows - but it lacked a nice border/trim. Do any of you have any suggestions? PS. This is an interesting technique, but a little too large: Quote
Shine Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I've go several ideas, could you give the dimensions(frame and all) that you're looking for? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 I'm not set on any dimensions inparticular, but rather just looking for something in minifig scale that would be in scale with a WW building. I'm thinking nothing more than 4 studs wide and 5-6 studs high - but I'm flexible if the size works. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 That's very good. I will try it and see what it looks like. Will it stay together? Quote
Shine Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 That's very good. I will try it and see what it looks like. Will it stay together? Stays together quite well actually. Sorry about the crappy picture, I have yet to figure out how to improve the quality. *wacko* However, I suppose a list of pieces would help- red 1x3 plate (x2) red 1x10 plate (x2) red 1x3 brick (x6) red 1x2 brick (x2) red1x1 Technic brick with hole (x2) trans white 1x2 brick (x4) brown 1x2 tile (x2) brown 1x4 tile (x2) brown 1x2 plate (x6) brown 1x4 plate (x1) 1.2L Technic pin (x2) *colors are as they appear in picture Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 I didn't realize it had technic pins and holes in it. I don't have enough to make this work for me, unless I try building without. Quote

Brick Miner Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 im sure LEGO would have just made a sticker for the 1x4x5 window. thats what i would do ;-) you could also try some 1x2x2 transparent panels (x4), though you wouldn't get the nice solid trim your looking for. the trim would end up being transparent also :-/ - BM Quote
jamtf Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 How about those windows used in Spider-Man 4856 Doc Ock's Hideout? Quote
