Does anyone else find that the 1x1 Cheese wedges are the most brittle lego parts ever created?

I have looked at several models over the past couple of days and this is the piece that seems to be the most damaged, just from being connected to something. it is crazy.

For example, the Wolverine/Deadpool Helicoptor, cracks on at least 3 of the wedges, either on the low or high side.

The Sakaaran ship that came with the Milano, the slops on that are cracked too... I am going to be looking at other models now but blimey these don't seem to want to last!

There is a thread somewhere on here about parts cracking just from using them, and yes indeed, the wedge you speak of is the main culprit. It is commonly called the cheese slope. Some members have stated that none of their parts have cracked, while others have widespread issues. I mostly display my models, so it cannot be blamed on mishandling. Perhaps, the environmental factors such as temperature or humidity could have some impact. It is frustrating to have to order replacements when the cracking does occur.

It seems like certain colors from certain time periods/sets are more susceptible to cracking. My dark red cheeses from the X-Men helicopter are also cracked, as are some dark red headlight bricks from Knights Kingdom sets, I believe. I have a few cracked greys but my others are fine.

Just took a look at the shield car, 4 of 6 slopes broken.

These are black.

The dark reds on my deadpool copter are also cracked.
