MakutaOfWar Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I was curious as to what the community's favorite CCBS piece(s) were and decided to ask here. Mine would have to be the double socket beam/bone, which seems to be rarely included in sets, but it is a key piece in MoCing for me to create unique torso and limb builds. Again, just curious what are the must-have's for CCBS fans. Quote
Logan McOwen Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Oh gosh, that's a tricky one! I'd have to say my current favourite would be this little number: Just look at that sweet little thing. Also, coming in at a close second, it'd be this particular bone: Something about this thing just epitomises CCBS for me. Same with the 5M shell: Quote

And the 5M(?)bone is also 'the' bone of CCBS to me as well, but as for the shell it would be a toss up between the 3M and 5M. :P Quote
WARHEAD Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 It's got to be either or In any of the colors they've been released in. I just really enjoy the looks of those particular parts and I've gotten so much use out of them so far it's ridiculous. Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I would tend to agree with LewiMOC on this one, but let me add a few more of my favourites: The 3M bone - Don't know why but I am always finding myself running out of these. Small but actually very useful. Rounded shoulder armour - I just love the look of this part. Especially useful in black, and can work as armour just about anywhere on a CCBS model. Plus I'm also always running out of these. The top half of a Zamor Sphere launcher - though many might see it as one use, as a launcher, I always use these to armour up chunky legs as part of my favourite limb building technique, and they are the perfect shape for that. Now I just wish for them to come in black Just my 2 pence Quote
Shakar Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I'm going to say the socket extender with friction. Nothing is better to add length and stability. It brought CCBS to a new level for me. Quote
DraikNova Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 The mini double-socket piece. Just perfect for those small connections. And if you're running out of the largers ones, just use a friction adder/extension and voila. Quote
Kalhiki Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 This gem: http://brickset.com/parts/design-92223 Haven't seen it since Savage Planet (Green Lantern aside), and I'd love it if it returned. Makes for nice chest, shoulder, and especially ankle armor. Quote
DraikNova Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Yeah, that might not be my favorite piece, but it's definitely one of the most useful ones, and it's a shame they haven't used it recently. Quote

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I love this part also, it's a shame it's a relatively rare piece and not as cheap (on BL) as it's 5M counterpart. Oh, and like the friction extender, it irritates me that it doesn't come in black, since the backbone structures of my builds (where they are used) are always black. Quote
Kalhiki Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Thornraxx had three of them. *facepalm* Of course! My bad. I knew it had to have had more uses post-Savage Planet, I just couldn't recall. Regardless, I still want to see more of that piece. Quote
Darking Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Thornraxx had three of them. As did BO Furno (1 in silver), BO Bulk (2 in silver) and BA Bruizer (1 in silver)! :P I'll have to agree with most people here on the 3M Bone. Everytime I try to create a new custom body base, I just know I'm going to use some of those. Quote
Kalhiki Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 As did BO Furno (1 in silver), BO Bulk (2 in silver) and BA Bruizer (1 in silver)! :P What? Geez, am I forgetful. D: Another piece I gained a quick attachment to were Onua's claws/hammer halves. I used them to make a Samurai-esque armor skirt and it worked amazingly well. The BA torso is also cool. Nice and slim. Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Ah, the best CCBS Pieces. There definitely are some real gems... which are always gorram hard to get because Bricklink sellers don't seem to bother buying HF sets for sale. Well, anyway: This piece is great for unusual shapes and is great tool on making beefy characters; Works also well on more organic figures. Examples include Toa Korpraun and General Killjoy. Honorary mentions go to its blockier cousin and cool Chiman nephew. Many people dislike printed shells but I have always found some of them very attractive: Then again those asymmetrical Hero shells are pretty much useless. On stranger parts, I've always likes this one: But then again... Complex mold, comes in one color, comes in one set. Duh. Great possiblities for shoulder armor and differently colored belly plate here, but no, only Drilldozer got this one. And now the new Bionicle sets have ol' good gear function on the back, I doubt we'll ever see this baby again... Probably SW figures could use them. Nine on Bricklink, by the way. On less exciting but even more useful pieces these are nice: Quote

MarkSurge9411 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 The Brain Attack heads and chestplates. They took customization to a whole nother level. Quote
