just2good Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I found this sucker at my LEGO Store today. It's a pencil holder, but gosh darn, I couldn't pass on it for $15. It reminds me a lot of the Classic Town houses I missed out on as a kid. I just saw that it was added to Brickset about a week ago, but the flood of new pictures made me unaware of the set. Quote
BrickJagger Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 That would fit in nicely with my Small Cottage Creator set. I'll have to buy this one considering the price. Thanks for the heads-up! Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I'm just going to wait for the instructions to be available online and mod it into a house.......hmm, and I might also have a place for it. Quote
jodawill Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Is that plate green or bright green? Quote
greg3 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Nice find!! It does have that classic LEGO town vibe to it... I might just have to pick one up (and MOD it into an open backed usable house for my town!!) Thanks for sharing!! Quote
wooootles Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Looks like a throwback---I remember building something like this (but smaller) with my 90s LEGO BASIC sets! I don't think this one fits in my town but I wish I can snag one for nostalgia's sake---too bad the nearest LEGO store is 3 hours away. At least I hope it shows up on S@H soon. Quote

I loved building the houses from that 90s set! This pencil pot set is quite a nice for the price. It's available now on the online LEGO Shop- but the second photo is incorrectly showing the box for the 'LEGO Store' set instead. http://shop.lego.com/en-CA/Pencil-Pot-40154 Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Looks ok - decent bricks. Can be extended into something maybe more impressive. Quote
Sarah Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The description on the Lego website is intriguing -- 3 internal places for stationary supplies! Quote
notaromantic Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) Alright. Someone needs to post a contest now - for 40154 mods. I'm in. You know, this is a great 'gateway' set, a gift for those people who recall thier childhood still, very fondly, and yet still seem raise their nose at adult Lego-ers. It seems it would be a kind of novelty thing, a pencil-holder, but it would get their feet wet again - into building, and realizing how much fun Lego once was, and still is. I especially like the primary color motif. Edited March 1, 2015 by notaromantic Quote
gazumpty Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 did i hear the words....contest?? i love this wee set...looks like I'm off to the lego store at lunch * sigh* Quote

Bricknblue Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I saw this added yesterday and think it's a great little set fir $15. If you work in an office you can now have a good excuse to play with LEGOs at work. Quote
Artifex Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Now that's a good set! And look at the price! Quote
talos Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I was just at my local Lego store yesterday and did not see this anywhere. Also, looking for it on S@H, its listed under 'Classic' category. I would of thought it would fall under 'storage' ...like the other similar sets... They haven't fixed the incorrect 2nd photo yet, either! I would of bought one, if I had seen it... :\ Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 You could even comfortably house a Fabulander there. Nice little set. With a palette change it could go historic or modern or any number of things. Just goes to show how variable LEGO is. Quote
mostlytechnic Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Oh sweet, totally have to pick one of these up for my desk at work. Maybe a second for home too :) Quote
ADUGeneral Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Looks like an oldest LEGO Basic set, beautiful Quote
Mestari Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Does anyone know what happened to this one? I tried to search for it on Lego site and get no results. Set number seems to not exist, the only pencil holder is the Friends one :/ Quote
wooootles Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 ^It's definitely still available on the US version, but if it's anything like the Valentine's set it could go fairly rapidly (I hope not) Quote
Sarah Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 ^It's definitely still available on the US version, but if it's anything like the Valentine's set it could go fairly rapidly (I hope not) Me too. I plan to get it at Double VIP points Quote
KringlesBricks Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) I saw it at the Lego Store on one of the "middle of the floor" stands. And I still see A LOT of those Valentine's set...that's where I saw the 2 together. It took me a couple laps to find the house in the LEGO store Edited March 10, 2015 by KringlesBricks Quote
just2good Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 Alright, so I got the thing all built. Great set for the price. I'm a bit sad it doesn't have a removable balcony, but I like the little story shown on the box (basically some guy is working/building the house and things are falling over), and the house build is very solid for the price! mostlytechnic Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Got one of these the other week and love it. They didn't have it out at my lego store, so I asked and they had them in the back. It's definitely a solid little house, pretty nice. Now my kids want me to pick up 3 more of them to give as gifts to their teachers at the end of the year. Quote
