MiloNelsiano Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) Osric's Tale Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Chapter 13 Chapter 14 Chapter 15 Chapter 16 Chapter 17 Shortly after turning onto the Old Road, they came to a small clearing in the forest where the smashed remains of 5 wagons lay scattered. Four dead horses and five drivers were also scattered among the remains. “This wasn’t done by thieves,” Cassius pointed out. “They left the supplies everywhere. Drow, perhaps?” “The Drow could have done something like this,” Leki answered, “but it doesn’t look like a Drow attack. There are no cuts from Drow weapons on anything, or anyone. Everything’s simply smashed—it almost looks like the result of an avalanche, though an avalanche couldn’t have possibly occurred here.” Osric remained silent, stumped by what could have caused the chaos he looked upon. Cassius and Leki were both right—this was the work of neither thieves nor Drow. But what else within the borders of Oros could have achieved such destruction? While looking at the wreckage of one of the wagons that lay scattered a little farther than the others, Osric noticed a set of enormous footprints. “These look like they were left by a giant,” Osric stated, breaking his silence. “We do get an occasional forest giant through here, but I’ve never heard one to attack a single person, let alone an entire caravan.” “You’re not wrong,” Leki answered. “These certainly look like they were left by a forest giant, but as you said, the forest giants are simple and peaceful creatures. They would never make such an attack.” “Regardless of what left these tracks, I think it’s safe to say that whoever or whatever left them is responsible for the destruction here,” Cassius concluded. “Agreed,” Osric answered. “Tracks this large are not difficult to follow, and they seem to be the only clue as to what happened here." As a quick note, I almost didn't include this build in the story, as it's quite small. However, when looking at this part of the story as well as the next, it seemed pretty long and thought it might better to incude it after all. Edited November 13, 2015 by MiloNelsiano Quote
