Jurss Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 First chassis version Second version with shorter wheel base and bigger ratios (slower, more power on wheels) so it could turn around Quote
VKTechnic Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Are you using skid steering? Looks pretty promising so far Quote
Graydingo Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 ^Agreed. And if you use only kit parts you could market this as 42030 C model. Quote
Jurss Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Are you using skid steering? Yes, of course. ^Agreed. And if you use only kit parts you could market this as 42030 C model. I'm afraid, that there's already parts from 42000 Quote
mihai_9600 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 How are you steering with only 1 motor? I think you can build a substractor with pieces from 42030 - there are 2 diffs and of course 2 other motors apart from the XL. Quote
Jurss Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 How are you steering with only 1 motor? With this reversing mechanism Rearranged XL motor and battery pack (it will be now as seat base) Quote
Jurss Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) Yesterday ... Main (ground) switch Biggest problem here On skid steering those cant keep load (marked with red) and jumps over. I could add nome more gear (blue), but then I need 13 studs long axis . I have only 12 long. There is also nopossibility to join two together. Then I have to shorten or make longer weelbase. Now the weelbase is very good. There is also possibility to make more complex gear mechanisms. This evenning will not be boring ... Edited March 2, 2015 by Jurss Quote
PKW Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 You can't use a 3x5 L instead o The short White liftarm? also You should use knob gear for the bucket tilting instead od the 1,6:1 gear reduction Quote
Jurss Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 You can't use a 3x5 L instead o The short White liftarm? Where? also You should use knob gear for the bucket tilting instead od the 1,6:1 gear reduction I dont have any. Yet ... I just found possible solution for gears. I will stick together two http://brickset.com/parts/4107543 (i think, that i had still two) and use in place of that yellow connector http://brickset.com/parts/4519010 In this case i also have two remake that slider for switching from driving to turning. PKW Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 near the 8t gear I see An 1M stop, on the same side,But on The 24t gear, there is a White liftarm, how Long is it? if You remove The 1M stop and put The 3x5 L here (fixing The 24t And 8t axles with the 3M side) it should work (sorry for My bad english if you don't find a solution this afternoon I Can make a photo) Quote
Jurss Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 If You think about that, which is between 24t gear and that yellow connector, than that part is mowing. This is from other side and my idea Quote
PKW Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 You have only To move by 1M the structure linking the 2 moving parts, it should work Quote
Jurss Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 OK, thank You. Maybe this could also help to improve connection between gears. But i will try to put more paralel gears, also close to motor. Motor now will be the weakest link ... :( But i don't have two XL motors. Quote
darksheep Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Looks cool , hope these solutions suggested work. Quote
Jurss Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Yesterday i tryed PKW suggestion. It is better, but still not enough. Switching mechanism removed Almost done Now I'll try to add more paralell gears. At the motor i'll have to move that yellow 13 pin bar by one stud (first picture in this post), so it will be more complex. Added some rubber (loom) bands for better control. It was not returning completely. On the other position this is done by shock absorbers spring. Quote
kisper Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Has it been tested how much load it can take ? Definitely a very sweet MOC ! Edited March 7, 2015 by kisper Quote
