Not sure many on here use the 'Group' functionality. I've seen many LDDs of MOCs withouf a single usage of groups. The only 'weakness' I found is, you can make a group and add it to your library. However, if you go back and select a part in that group, you can move that part by itself only. Is there a way to force LDD to select the WHOLE group if I select a part from within a given group? I'm looking for the same functionality as in microsoft drawings within powerpoint. If you click on a part that is within a group, the whole group is selected.

No, if you want to move a group, you have to select it before.

Go the the "Group" tab, click on a group to select it, then move the selection.

What you ask is not possibile because LDD can't state if a you want to move a group or a subgroup to which the brick belongs.

No, you cannot do that (as Calabar already said before me), although I can imagine very simple modificator key (like holding down ALT,,CTRL, SHIFT or their combinations) while clicking the brick of some group for activating exactly that function you are asking for...actually it'd be quite useful I guess,,go and try ask for it in new LDD 5 (there is forum for this somewhere here)
