Macmanu Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hello everyone I just finished to assembly the 9398 and have noticed that the left wheels (front and rear) barely spin. When I grab one of the right side wheels then the left would start spinning Is this normal? Thanks Quote
JGW3000 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 You may have some gears installed too tight, there should be a slight gap between gears and any adjacent beams or elements. Is the issue when the motors are running or when they are off? Not sure if this is a reason, but did you remember to center the servo motor (first few steps in the instructions) before installing it? Coola1 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 You shouldn't worry much, thats the differential working. It transfers all power to the wheel with less strain, I guess the wheels on the right are a little tighter than the left. But don't worry, because when all wheels are on the ground, both sides will be spinning. Quote
Rockbrick Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 and the more you use it the tight side should loosen up after a few crawls gone wrong across the sofa! Quote
__________________________ Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I recommend you use a differential lock like this: http://sariel.pl/2012/05/compact-axle-with-a-differential-lock/ Or abandon diff locks for knob wheels, like this: And if you have Power Pulller wheels you should add them!
