Hello friends of Lego Train,

I know, I know. the topic 9 volt rails is a never ending story. But only discuss not help me, my fleet of vehicles is too large, I use some power Functions- engines (88002) because the PF motors are cheaper, but my existed to railroad tracks, to change to PF rails is not debatable.

( See my videos on You Tube )

A double crossover rail switch I have my own " tinkered "

To modify straight Lego rails, there is a "blueprint" of alias mirekEnd

To modify curved Lego rails, there is this video of alias cdhdfr

but I must say that I see it, but I do not understand. But that is not important. There are Fortunately new large radii curves, from ME Models. Unfortunately, help me not (9 volt rail)

In recent days, I found this site at flickr

https://www.flickr.c...22249773@N02/

It is the opposite Tom Paul. I want the big curves, from ME Models modify in the same way. But I can not find any address a manufacturer, dealer, shop Where can I buy 1.5 mils Stainless Steel tape self-adhesive.

It should not be wider than 10 mm = 0.393701 in. (Inch)

And the length of about 20-25 meters = 65 - 82ft. (Feet)

Does anyone know an address a manufacturer, a shop where I can buy it, preferably with order number with photo.

Copper or aluminum foil I will not. It must be self-adhesive stainless steel band. I thank you all help me locate the.

Yours sincerely, Udo

( Siehe meine Videos auf You Tube )

Hallo alias legoman666

The page goes in the right direction. But how thick the stainless steel foil? 1.5 mils ? I can not find any information. Unfortunately, one (1) inch is much too wide

Yours sincerely, Udo

If you click "Specs" it shows that the steel part of the tape is 1.5mil, and the backing (glue?) is 2mil, so 3.5mil (0.1mm) in total.

It would be easier to buy wide tape and cut it to width, instead of trying to find 10mm tape.

I've ordered a roll from there. It is quite thick (borderline too thick) but I couldn't tell you for sure how thick exactly. Any tape you find will be too wide. I cut it in to 1/4" wide strips.

Here is an excerpt from a conversation I had with a metal tape sales person:

Hello,

I noticed you slit the stainless steel foil tape at time of order. Can you do 1/4" width?

---

Yes..

Min order is $50

$21.25 per roll

I actually ordered a roll from tapecase. After going through the considerable difficulty of cutting the tape in to 1/4" wide strips and cutting my fingers repeatedly on the sharp edge while applying it, I only managed to get it to work well on straights. With curved track, the outside of the tape either needs to stretch or the inside needs to bunch up. Either way does not work well. I tried a few pieces of R104 track, and it was easier to apply, but then I had issues with the tape curling up since the adhesive was not strong enough (even though it was damn strong.)

To summarize, I do not recommend using tape.

Hello everybody

I wrote 3 companies. There are no answers. To process I think you have to "on" the inside ...... "with" the inside start, of the bent Lego railroad track.

To understand better what I mean a Picture.

It's quick, quickly made very carelessly.

On Monday I'm going calls with a company in Germany. Perhaps the cooperation is better.

Yours sincerely, Udo
