roxXx5 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 After reading in this forum for a long time i want to present you a small MOC of mine. This is a tracked excavator in mostly orange white and dark grey. It features fully functional arm driven by small LAs and steered with three HOG-wheels at the back of the body. The lower one of the wheels will lift up the whole arm. The wheel on the left tilts the shovel and last but not least the right one moves the middle section of the arm. I hope you enjoyed watching my first published MOC here. Greetings Rolf Quote
Rishab N Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Nice work. I love small models with a lot of functions Quote
kisper Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Great build for your first try ! Thanks for sharing ! Quote
roxXx5 Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Hello and thanks to your comments. Here is a Picture of what's inside of this machine. It's pretty lazy engineering in there and uses a lot of U-Joints . Quote
ComMix Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hi, why you say it`s lazy? Good Engineering is when it is working as planed. And I'm not sure wether it would have been better to use gears. So i, for myself like it a lot!! Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Nice MOC I like the colourscheme, the tilted cabin and the amount of functions in that scale. Might it be possible to make the rotation of the superstructure also geared? Quote
jorgeopesi Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I built another similar a couple of weeks ago but with more gears, I advice you to use the red 8th gear very useful for this machines. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=103861&hl=%2Bmini+%2Bexcavator Quote
miguev Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Very nice how you packed so many functions in that small size and still look good! Quote
VKTechnic Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Welcome to Eurobricks Very nice build, sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution! Quote
roxXx5 Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 @ Jorgeopesi: Yours is great too. I like how you solved the movement of the shovel on yours. @ Jeroen Ottens: I think that it's possible to gear the rotation but i don't think it's necessary but that's just my opinion =D Quote
