Ok, this is my first ever MOC and non TLG modular. I am planning a larger 32x32 modular at the moment, but I wanted to design and build something small, as practice if you will. I found a 8x16 basplate in the kids collection and used this my inspiration. What can I build thats 8 wide and wont look out of place. So I decided on a 'Victorian' publi toilet, like the ones found in many English towns.

I am really pleased with how its turned out, learnt some stuff and I've got some ideas to detail it further, like a decal that says 'Gents' to go above the door, however I dont know how you make these? I hope you like it and I welcome all feedback. More pictures on my Flickr account.

Excellent designing there 'Lankygit'.......true they are too clean, unless they were just visited by the cleaner....what NO urinal cakes ?

Is there a door for the toilet in the back.......sometimes you need to be private to read the newspaper......or update your Facebook ?

Brick On 'Lankgit' !

I saw the thread title and immediately thought of Dan Dann the Lavatory man from Carry on Screaming so thanks for that!

This is an good looking recreation of the facilities. I like the stained glass above the doorway and you've captured the shape (but not the grime) of the urinals.

It seems that lighningtiger has started a worldwide series of urinals...

So, this is the second MOC of this topic which I find.

And I find it has worked out quite well!

You had a question on how to make decals.

Well I usually try to find an existing template somewhere in this strange thing they call the internet (then I don't have to worry about finding the right size). Then I modify it with something like photoshop.

And I use PowerPoint to place all finished designs on one page - and then I print them on "self-adhesive" paper.

(if that makes sense in English).

There is a section in this forum:

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=90

called Minifig Customisation Workshop. That might be helpful.

And somewhere else:

I hope this helps.

I really like this. First the outside: The bit of gray brick in the middle of the red is a nice touch, and the stained glass over the door gives it that historic flavor. Then I look inside, and it just cracks me up. Minifigs must be the cleanest people ever.

Great idea! It's so logical, that one does not even think of it.

I'm always on the look-out for alley ways, and so on, to break the "skyline" of the buildings.

This would absolutely fit in perfectly in any modular street.

Would love to see your 32x32 modular.

Keep clicking those bricks together!

Thanks for the kind comments guys, its encouraging when you get such positive comments from a talented bunch of people.

Regarding the cleanliness... I was going for the cold clincial look, the urinals have yellow stained tiles in the bottom of them, prehaps i should have added some broken/missing tiles, trash can etc :) I'll see what I can do.

Nice addition. Where is the girl going to go?

She must have arranged to meet 'Dave' the flower cart seller here as he works nearby ;)

Would love to see your 32x32 modular.

This is currently still a WIP. I have started bricklinking it, so LDD file is the best I can show you right now.

Ha very nice and original MOC here. I agree that shiny new bricks make it look to spotless. I can see a good use of the nasty 'yellowed' white bricks we all avoid now!
