BirdOPrey5 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I was recently told by a seller that despite a minifigure being listed as "brand new" that I should not expect accessories to be shipped with it. In fairness to the seller the accessories were not in the picture. These are minifigures from various series. I was told minifigure listings are minifigures only and if I wanted the accessories (like swords and shields) I needed to buy minifigures listed under "Sets." Is this common knowledge on Bricklink that I wasn't aware of? Did you know this before? I hope this is an OK question to ask- it is a general question, not about any specific seller- I'm not going to release any details about the transaction. Quote
Sarah Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I had noticed on bricklink that some minifigures list accessories and some don't. It's annoying but I understand where the idea comes from that accessories are not part of the minifigure. When in a set, it can be hard to tell which accessories "go" with the minifig and which with the set. For Series Minifigures it is more annoying. Quote
Sven F Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 CMF's are great for sellers because they get almost as much for the accessory as they do for the figure itself. minifigure is a category on it's own and consists of: headwear head torso assembly w fists leg assembly A collectible minifigure is a set and comes with everything you would get if you bought it new. The problem is some sellers on BL put complete figures with accessories in the minifigure category and vice versa so its hard to manage your wanted list. I think sellers should write a note for parted out cmf's for unaware buyers as it could cause potential angry customers. Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 The minifigure category offers minifigs only, despite their theme. The accesories come in parts categories, usually Minifig, utensil or Minifig, weapon. Sellers sell CMF's with the stand and the accesories both in Minifigs and Sets and this might cause confusion. Also, on additon to Sven F's list, minifig in minifig category should include neck/torso wear too (beards, moustaches, air tanks, backpacks etc.). I think the seller did everything all right in your case. Quote
binaryeye Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) Is this common knowledge on Bricklink that I wasn't aware of? Did you know this before? Yes. You can check the inventory of the minifigure or set to see exactly what should be included. Edited February 13, 2015 by binaryeye Quote

For cmfs it really depends I've seen them listed with accessories in the minifig only section. Basically if it doesn't indicate accessories are included in the description then it means minifig only. I wouldn't rely on the photo. Quote
BirdOPrey5 Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 OK, thanks... will chalk it up to lesson learned the hard way I guess. No more minifigures for me on bricklink unless its under sets. Quote
