Renamed99 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Hey, recently i was researching dry ice projects. It's really cool to make fogs for drink's, but one thing stood out for me. Somewhere on youtube guy made jar explode cause of dry ice. So , when dry ice melt it doesn't become a liquid,it becomes air and produces high pressure . So i am asking people who has experience with lego pneumatics , Would it be possible to power lpe on dry ice? Quote
Epic Technic Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I've seen it been done on YouTube. Quote
VKTechnic Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I've seen it been done on YouTube. That means I can do it too, right? Quote

nicjasno Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I run my engines on 8 bar, and have run them on 10 bars aswell. Quote
nerdsforprez Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I run my engines on 8 bar, and have run them on 10 bars aswell. Yes but you larger inlet and outlet holes and stronger hosing...... Quote
Blakbird Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 From a pressure perspective it would certainly work, but I think the low temperatures would make the seals brittle and perhaps cause them to crack. I wouldn't do it. Quote
nicjasno Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Not necessarily crack, but cold temperatures would make them leak, Quote
Epic Technic Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 But when there is the friction of the cylinders more heat is created so it might even out. Quote
