I have 2x4ft wooden base boards down. The surface is bare wood, MDF I think. I haven't got all of my base plates as Im only starting.

Is there any recommendations on painting or putting a cloth like material down.

Thanks

The easiest and fastest thing would be a table cloth in green which my club uses on our plastic tables when doing displays. Otherwise you do need to paint the surface or you will start to gets splinters (and it looks awful).

I noted that the Melbourne Train LUG used a type of polystyrene ontop of their tables, this I belive is to stop the base plates moving durring trainsport.
