Hi all,

after clearing my basement and finding all my old lego models from roughly 20 years ago I reignited my interest in those little plastic bricks again. Another reason were some recent visits to our local LEGO store. I was surprised about the new models and pretty much fell in love with modular buildings. After seeing so many awesome MOCs here and everywhere in the internet I decided that I want to build my own modular building.

Since I wanted to learn while building this MOC, I started designing it within LDD, cause I've been using CAD programs for over 15 years:

I also wanted my own building instruction since the automatically created ones from LDD are pretty much useless for big models. I exported my building to MLCad and reorganized everything to make it editable in LPub. So if someone is interested in a building instruction, please check the link in my signature where you can find the building instructions for purchase.

Here some pictures of the final model. I still need to learn how to take proper pictures (way more difficult than I thought!) so if someone has some advices, I'd gladly take them:

For the interior I used some models from tutorials around the net, some modified ones and some own. Mainly because I wanted to get used to modern building techniques and create a feeling for scaling.

First MOC? Damn, can't wait to see your next one. I like everything in this one, both exterior and interior. I can easily see your 15 years with CAD.

Fenomenal, felicidades.

Finally got the chance to go back to my first MOC and do some little updates. I mainly did it because I felt that the facade looked a bit too bland compared to the other modulars so I tried to spice it up a little without changing too much. Moreover I also added a little more detail to the interior, mainly the living room. In addition I used the chance to take better pictures of the MOC itself. Next will be building instructions. :)

Below is a selection of new images. All pictures can be found in the gallery: http://www.kawano.de.../townhouse.html

Great for a first MOC! Took me ages to be good enough to be confident to post. I still only use LDD. I've not explored other software. Is it that easy to export to MLCAD and then to LPUB? I've explored the links to your other creations. Slow down you're making us all look lazy! Amazing work.

I was not able to PM you, but I would still love to have the LDD file/ instructions. Great work on the building.

Please check the link in my signature. From there you can find to purchase the building instruction (directly or from ebay).

The export to MLCad is easy, but then it becomes more complicated. ;-)

You have to rearrange every brick in MLCad and manually add the steps for the building instruction (this takes quite some time). From there you can create the building instruction in LPub (which also takes some time). Took me a while until I was able to create building instructions of a somewhat decent quality. But it is quite a lot of fun!
