Oh wow, Grievous is incredible! He looks like a super entertaining build.

I agree, it's going to be a great set, in terms oif action figure design and as a good parts pack.

Ugh, It wasn't a worry for nothing when we spotted those gaps in his upper torso. I'm not usually into modding sets but good lord doesn't this guy need a gearbox. I've go an idea to connect the two hands into one piece first together and that into a gearbox so his arms will spin like a fan. Now that I think it I would prefer if arms on the both sides would turn into the same direction and a custom gearbox would be more fitting since the arms would become pretty heavy and then slip out the gears axle hole.

Grievous looks awesome!!

Say, can i request a size comparison picture between grievous and:

-) witch doctor

-) minifigure (just because)

-) medium sized toa

Sadly no, I'm a little tight on money right now and I've gone out of my way quite a bit to get it even if it was under the official price (~33€).

Ah, too bad. :sceptic:

Thanks anyways for your sacrifice.

I can already see the teeth of those small gears grinding up against that black knobbed gear at the back... Otherwise, that looks pretty damn good.

They shouldn't grind up against the knob gears. They don't do so on Gali, Tahu, and Pohatu, which have gears positioned similarly relative to each other.

Ah, you're right. Almost forgot.

So are these the largest sets CCBS are capable of building?

Likely not.

Largest possible? I highly doubt it. Largest TLG will produce? Probably. They both look taller than any titan builds I remember from Gen 1, so it's certainly not a bad thing.

Could this work for Grievious?

More friction would be a good thing.

I think they're more limited by the price than the size.

Definitely. I always fall back on this incredible MOC as an example. It was designed by Christopher Raundahl, one of the lead designers of the CCBS and a longtime Bionicle designer as well (he was the designer of the ORIGINAL Tahu and Kopaka). My brother reverse engineered it on LDD a while back, and based on that model he estimates that the original would contain 225 pieces and cost $50–60 at retail. So in essence, the only thing stopping Lego from designing and releasing larger sets is skepticism that the market could support a Constraction set that size (probably well-founded, considering they have years of sales data to guide them and all we have to go on is what we would like as individual mega-fans).

Super excited for Vader and Grievous, day one purchase for me!

Just wondering: are all decorated parts in them printed or are there some stickers too?

They're all printed. Not that much of a surprise, considering that apart from the new torsos and heads, every decorated part we've seen is a part that has been printed in the past. The only stickered parts in this year's Bionicle sets were parts that had never been printed before.

What about Vader's control panel?

Not 100% sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's printed (that's a road sign piece that has been printed many times before, and sticker sheets are not that much more economical unless there are other unprintable parts that need stickers already).

I'd love to see a Toa wielding a lightsaber, if anyone could post that. Kopaka with one of Grievous's blue sabers would probably be the best combination.

I wonder if anyone is going to find/post Obi Wan and Vader soon.
