I just started on the first bag from my LEGO sea cow set and everything went LEGO fantastic until I got to Metalbeard's foot.

On step 14 sub-steps 4 5 and 6 it has you place a pearl gold 4073 1x1 stud between the two reddish brown 47905 1x1 bricks with two side studs before attaching two dbg 50950 3x1 slopes to the side.

I do not find this possible, without the stud the pieces will fit but the gap is too narrow between the bricks, with the stud the outermost brick fowls on the ridges inside of the slopes?

I can make the parts fit in LDD but the way they do seem impossible in real bricks.

Hi clm,

You have forgotten a 1x2 dark brown plate, on top of which the gold 1x1 is placed, and then the second 1x1 with two studs. This second 1x1 is then flush with the end of the slopes.

Take a close look at sub step four.

Awesome set, and a great build, hope you enjoy it

cheers

Thanks! That was it.. kind of wish the detail drawings had outlines those dark brown pieces are somewhat hard to see in the instructions :)

It is odd that LDD accepts it as a legal connection though

I can't wait to actually build the set, but I can't build the ship until next week. I got it for myself for a birthday present in a somewhat unusual ebay auction

I also got Benny's spaceship and.. wow.
