Dzoni90 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 My MOC for a LUG contest. I was assigned a task to build an Ancient Egypt MOC. I wanted to create a glowing-in-the-dark effect, and to emphasize the treasure of the Pharaoh, so i edited the pictures more than usual in order to achieve that. Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 The build is ok, but I think the lighting is strange.... Can we have one pic with "natural" light? Quote
Dzoni90 Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Thank you both. The build is ok, but I think the lighting is strange.... Can we have one pic with "natural" light? Of course, but there is no "natural" light here . It was photographed in complete dark only the flash was turned on. After that, I edited pics with the program called Photos, which came with Win8. I played with contrast, brightness, shadows and saturation in that program, and that was the result. Edited January 23, 2015 by Dzoni90 Quote
BrickSev Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Great job Every time I see Egyptian tombs I think about Stargate lol Btw back to topic I really like the abundance of details (the items, the chests, the floor etc) The "symbol" built with bricks is very nice and with a nice choice of colors. Keep up the good job Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Beautiful, and using the sarcophagus as the center of the Eye - pure genius. Any chance on your using this as part of a larger display/Would you mind if possibly someday, when I have the spare tan bricks for it, I borrowed your Eye idea? Quote
Adolfo Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I'm working on this theme too. I love ancient civilizations and your MOC is very nice. I liked the light effetcs. Congrats! Quote
Dzoni90 Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Thank you all. @Lind Whisperer I probably won't do a larger display based on this MOC (but who knows ), and of course you can borrow this idea for your future works/MOCs. Quote
Spader Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I must say, the spooky lighting really adds something extra to this build! Nice work! Quote
Gary The Procrastinator Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 The lighting really makes the mood. Wonderful work here; Johnny THunder would be eyeing it intently! Quote
Dzoni90 Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 Thank you both @Gary, fun fact, in the Serbian language, my nickname Džoni is pronounced exactly the same as Johnny in English. So, if we ever meet in real life, you can call me Johnny. Quote
Bytor Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Very good job on the bird on the back wall! it looks great :) Quote
Ardelon Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Great lighting, it really sets the mysterious atmosphere, and lovely floor mosaic, too. And the amount of detailled goodies in the form of sculptures and treasures is really cool too - it would have made a great MOC even without the lighting effect. Quote
LittleJohn Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Excellent job! The statues and chests of gold look great! Quote
Blufiji Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Very nice. A great excursion out of the castle theme as for as history goes. Quote
Lord Tyrus Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 What's not like? The spooky lighting really adds to the build! Quote
Khaled Yousef Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I’ve been inside the pyramid in Giza, and I must say your lighting looks exactly the same as the real thing, and it reminded me of that awesome experience. You managed to capture the mysterious and scary atmosphere… excellent job. Quote
Hive Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I think it's a great moc, but I actually prefer the picture unedited. Probably as the only one. Quote
BrickJagger Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I like the effect the lighting gives this MOC. Nice! Quote
