It is that time of year again! (Actually it is past that time but who is to notice?)

You all have heard of the eternal cities of Valholl, Petreae, Abyssal, and Albion. But of late a few new towns have been garnering as much attention as the big cities. So I, Masa, have decided to send out awards to the most influential up and coming town in each guild. (Small print: these awards are purely fictional)

Mitgardia

When I think of Mitgardia, the first town that comes to mind is surprisingly not Valholl. Instead it is a fairly new town that has been growing quite rapidly over the past few years, Thorshaven. This small town located in the milder climates of Mitgardia on the coast near the Avalonian border, received inter-guild attention as the location of the harbor incident that sparked the Great Naval Race. A beautiful town with a strategic location, it has become an increasingly popular destination with tourists as well as merchants.

Kaliphlin

For many years Mpya Stedor remained unchallenged at Masa's Semi Annual Up and Coming Town Awards. But now a new town has appeared out of nowhere, almost literally. Ruadh was founded a few years ago by Siedna Ruadh as an artists haven and since then has rapidly become well known in all the guilds. It is a quiet and peaceful town with cultured gardens rising out of the surrounding desert. Perhaps the peacefulness of this town is what attracts all the visitors from around the four Guilds of Historica while war looms on the Horizon.

Stay tuned after the break for the winning towns of Nocturnus and Avalonia.....

REWARDS??? Who let that get past screening?

Anyway we are back for the final two recipients.

Nocturnus

WIth Abyssan constantly under siege by Black Spire troops, the safest town currently in Nocturnus may be Shadowmere. Lord Vladivus of Shadowmere has made alliances with various military leaders of the Guilds so it is not uncommon to see a good representation of the four guilds there. With its tall spires and lava pits, Shadowmere is quite an iconic Nocturnus town.

Avalonia

There have been quite a few noteworthy settlements popping up all over Avalonia of late. Trifork, Burrium Aqua, [Euosmos(a clever Mitgardian evidently figured a way to sneak this one in and as noted in the comments is actually in Mitgardia. The culprit still has not been found)], and Belynia all are wonderful up and coming towns but Sionach gets the award this time around by its sheer size. As the town continues to grow, it seems to rival even the great Albion.

So there folks you have it! Go visit these great winning towns and if you have the time, go visit the others as well because they all are what makes Historica the great place it is!

This is great! Made me laugh!

Shadowmere certainly seems to be the only safe haven at the moment in Nocty. Vlad has yet to make alliances with anyone from Mitgardia though! (I really need to get some people's Mitgardian sig-figs). You might see some Mitgardians around in Shadowmere though!

As an aside, isn't Euosmos Mitgardian?

As an aside, isn't Euosmos Mitgardian?

And ye Euosmos is Mitgardian :classic:

This is outrageous! How can that be? Everyone knows Euosmos is in Mitgardia! Lousy Kaliphlin scribes...One of them probably was bribed to get the town on the list. I will most assuredly have to investigate this further.

Beorthan of the Trifork is most honoured to have been included in the runners up for the Avalonian pole position. Architects and builders have been commisioned to ensure that the Trifork will remain a conteder for the coming prizes!

It is rumoured that the riverport is nearing completion, as well a brand new mill, and some even say construction has started on a cathedral!

Congratulations to the winners - Beorthan sends special regards to his friend and ally Vladivus and his Lord Regent deGothia!

Wait a minute, a challenger for Stedor in Kaliphlin??? And we helped to grow Ruadh... Pfoe....

Hahaha just kidding, Ruadh is a very nice city and deserves its spot in the Kaliphlin list of must see places :sweet:
