Chris1594 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) Hello everybody I have some minifigures that I need some verification with. I would like to know if my space and fire minifigs are indeed from the 80's and 90's and not reissued. I know Toys R Us had a vintage minifig collection and I just wanted to be sure this that these aren't the vintage ones and passed off as 80's and 90's minifigs. I got some of these a year ago from Bricklink and Ebay. With the fire fighter ones I think the vintage set the coat buttons are more yellow than gold but hard to tell. I know one has a solid stud head and the other doesn't I have a few others (Not pictured) that do not have the solid stud head I don't even know when they stopped making that. Attatched are the pictures I am just very particulate with my collection as I want the actually classic items not the remade. http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6217243 http://www.brickshel....cgi?i=6217240 Solid stud head http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6217242 http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6217241 I had problems on this site uploading pics so I put them as a link Edited January 20, 2015 by Chris1594 Quote

TheLegoDr Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Not to hi-jack the thread, but is there a way to tell with Black Falcon figures if they are the newer TRU version or the originals? I recently purchased some from a LUG member, but they looked to be in too good of condition. And at the time I completely forgot about the TRU kit that came out a few years ago, so I thought I was getting really good condition classics, but now I wonder... Quote
Chris1594 Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Any inputs to my post people? Hopefully the pictures are working now. Quote

1974 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 These are old ones. I actually have new firefighters wiith that torso (from a MISB 6382) and they look exactly like that, light yellow'ish - not gold Quote
Chris1594 Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 These are old ones. I actually have new firefighters wiith that torso (from a MISB 6382) and they look exactly like that, light yellow'ish - not gold so the fire fighters I have are from the 80's and 90s they're not the ones from the vintage selection with swapped heads? Just thought it was odd how one was solid stud and they other wasn't. Quote
RTZX9R Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Check the following page - has a lot of detail on minifigure parts across the decades. There are specific features in certain era's of the torso, hands, etc. that should match up properly to validate your minifigs are legitimate. http://www.leggodt.nl/items/lego/themes-minifigs.php Quote

Chris1594 Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 I'm kinda confused though because didn't the solid stud heads run till 1992? I'm looking at the Blacktron 2 minifigs without the jet packs and they were made 1991 - 1993 but I see people selling with solid stud head so i'm kinda confused a bit. Quote
1974 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 According to BL, the solid head was in production until 2013 Quote
Chris1594 Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 According to BL, the solid head was in production until 2013 I guess bricklink is wrong then. Quote
Chris1594 Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 And what do you base that on? because they stopped making the solid stud heads in the late 80's early 90's Quote
