Shakar Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Soon I'll go to Legoland Germany, but before I'd appreciate if those who already went answered my very simple questions, just to hear a preview of what is waiting for me: 1)How was the store? I mean, did they have the latest sets? Did they have a nice selection? Were the prices good? 2) How were the attractions? Did you have fun? 3)Overall, was it worth going? Thanks for replying, hoping that your answers are positive. :-) Shakar Quote
Corvus Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 1) I think it depends on the time of the year, setwise. But yes, there was a decent selection. 2) The attractions are good. That bionicle-twister-thing is a blast! I really recomend it. 3)Yes, it is definately worth going. Clean park, and as usual, full of lego wit. :-) Quote
CopMike Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Hi! Check out the info from the event 2007 in the eventforum *y*! And here Quote
Dfenz Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Hi When I visited the park in May the selection was reasonably good. It was missing Cafe Corner but it the Hobby Train set appeared while I was there and there were some factory sets like the amusement park. The marquee tent didn't have the best selection in the world but the main store had a better selection than the store at the Billund Park which I visited in June. If you like ice cubes this is the place to go!!!! The attractions are fairly similar to the other Legoland parks. If the weather is nice check out the new pirates area as there is a fantastic interactive ride which allows guests to fire water cannons from their pirate ships at the public bold enough to fire at them with cannons of their own and also at other pirate ships as they pass each other. My son had a ball on that ride and we got soaked. Even the people in the queue aren't safe. A superb ride. The Technic test track is always a popular ride (I thought the Billund version was slightly better as it didn't seem to brake as often) and there is a Bionicle ride that is effectively a robotic arm that you can program with various moves (to turn you upside down etc.). Its indoors which is a bonus if its wet. In general Legoland rides are tamer than for other amusement parks but this might be because the target age group is lower. I enjoyed this park a lot and overall rated it better than Billund due in part because it was far less crowded although the Billund park has a Legoredo western town area which the Gunzburg park does not. Its certainly a lot cheaper than in Denmark and the thing to do in advance might be to check out LS@H prices for Germany before you go to identify which sets might be good value in Germany. For example Star Wars sets were good value compared to Irish prices although some sets e.g. 6211 and technic are much cheaper here than in Legoland. If you are planning to spend a lot consider getting at least one annual pass among your group as this gives you a 10% discount in the shops and restaurants and it cost almost the same as a 2 day ticket. I think someone already mentioned in another post that a child annual pass might be all you need. Quote
El Bucanero Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I returned from my trip to LEGOland Germany two days ago! You're lucky. 1)How was the store? I mean, did they have the latest sets? Did they have a nice selection? Were the prices good? Quite good, they also had Skeleton Ship attack and all other Castle sets. They also had some legends, like an old airport and the U.S.S. Constellation. The PaB is big but friggin' expensive... 2) How were the attractions? Did you have fun? I didn't really go for the rides, but they were okay, I had fun! The miniland is beautiful! If it's hot when you go, I recommend you to go in Captain Nick's splash battle in the pirate land. Very refreshing! X-D 3)Overall, was it worth going? Certainly! Mr Tiber Quote

Shakar Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 I've never seen in person a PaB, but I know how it is. Can you buy minifigs as well? They had Skeleton Ship Attack too? Great. Did they also have the recent Bionicle sets (Toa Mahri, the recent large sets...you can take a look at Shope at Home if you don't know them)? Well, sounds great. I will go there at the beginning of August. :-) Shakar Quote
Corvus Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Have fun. :-) And make sure to set the Bionicle spinner to the oddest looking maneuvers. X-D Quote
