grum64 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) Hello Everyone As some of you may know I’ve been trying to ‘reverse build' (bodge!) this AC Cobra for my Wife’s cousin who’s busy restoring a real one. https://www.flickr.c...57634985498203/ For weeks I’ve been stuck trying to get the rear right. Due to the ‘illegal build’ restrictions of LDD and my lack of knowledge of the finer points of the 'dark art' of SNOT building I've got as far as I can. I've tried everything I can think of and still can’t get it looking right so I’m hoping someone here can advise me how best to get it right. I'd be very grateful for any advice/help & can send the LDD file if it helps. Thank you. Edited January 19, 2015 by grum64 Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Have you tried contacting the person who built the model on flickr to ask them how it is done? Quote

deraven Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Can you show us what you've got so far, or highlight what area exactly you're having trouble with? It looks fairly straightforward as to how the SNOT area(s) are assembled, but the trick is how they're attached to the rest of the vehicle. To me it looks like the entire lower 2/3s of the back section (that's assembled upside-down) including the gas tank underneath are one complete assembly that then connects to the rest of the chassis just before, or possibly above, the rear axle. So that's all 1 block that slots in like a jigsaw puzzle piece connecting at a 90° angle (or 270º, depending on how you look at it). Quote

grum64 Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Update on progress so far. I've been working (LDD) on the front of the Cobra and after several days I've now got something I'm quite happy with. At least it looks fairly Cobraish. The gaps under the headlights and above the wedge pieces I'll sort out during the brick build. It's still very much a WIP but I'd appreciate any constructive criticism. Quote
