Lind Whisperer Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 What parts would be good for creating the hull for a Steampunk Airship? I assume it would be ones from pirate ships? Those would work, but if you want inspiration, open this picture, and zoom-click in on the upper right hand corner. It's a beautiful example of an LEGO airship, one I've always wanted to recreate myself, but I never had the bricks nor the budget. It's half steampunk, half diesel punk(Or something very close to it, just in black), but even so, it's definitely worth a look. Quote
Lego_Hero Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I'm super tempted to just take the ship from the new pirates theme and just add a brickbuilt blimp and some gribbles. I don't have any large hulls and I've built and rebuilt the hull of my monsterpiece three times. The front is great (I'll show it off next time I have it out on the table), but getting the curve right on the sides have been a challenge. Whisperer's link was interesting. Had I that much brown, I might try it. Quote
Yzalirk Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Besides the parts for the hull, what else would I need for the hull? By that, I mean what bricks are also needed except for the pirate ship hulls. I have a blimp as well to use, the one from an old Johnny Thunder set. Quote
Arigomi Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Every steampunk airship needs propellers. Optional details include a chimney for the boiler, an anchor, and fins for steering. Quote
