Quote from the Series 13 Minifigures bio:http://www.lego.com/...5dfec9418e80b99

“We may be small now, but one day we shall be a legend!”

The Classic King’s kingdom is just getting started. He doesn’t have much land or treasure yet, or even his own little village to rule, but he’s already recruited fourteen brave and loyal knights, and by working together they have constructed a fine golden castle. It has battlements and a flag and a drawbridge and everything!

Creating a brand-new kingdom isn’t easy, but the Classic King is full of big ideas. He imagines that one day, the world will be full of castles and fortresses and inns and forests. There may even be horses for his knights to ride…though for right now, they’ll have to build their own!

So he's the king of the classic castle http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/375_Castle

I wonder if the next Castle theme will be modeled after the classic heraldry and emblems!

Yeah, its been mentioned in the S13 thread. Before that, I thought he was a reference to the Crusader faction, with his red-blue-yellow color scheme, but the bio is clear.

Im not sure how close any theme could be to the1978 Castle - I doubt TLG would make pink heraldry (maybe if they made it red?), or even the maltese cross. And Im not sure about a yellow Castle either.

I think the bio is just a shout-out, with no future consequence.

Fun little find. I wouldn't see it as indication of what is to come either, but it's an amusing little homage to the very start of Castle.

I see almost noone sees what I noticed-this king is based on CARDS kings.

Im sure plenty of people noticed it.

I went to Google image search as soon as I saw White Fangs review of the king, wondering why he looked so familiar, until I stumbed upon an image of a playing card and then it hit me.
