Hello all. This is my first "real" post here on EB. A few days ago I started something a little out of the ordinary for me. For months I've been trying to model the American Suburban home. Always unsuccessfully for one main reason. Lack of parts... So I finally decided to have a go in LDD. :classic: Here are some pictures of what it looks like so far:

I'm running out of materials for flooring. What are some other flooring options?

Feedback and constructive criticism is much appreciated! :classic:

This looks very good, but the size of your house will make your wallet hurt. When you include all the details this MOC should have, it will be an outstanding creation.

I was a little surprised how much my homes cost, but who adds up $$ when your building and enjoying your hobby.

I know when I receive complements from my MOC, I just am inspired to build more.............

The only thing to suggest on floor coverings is to maybe add a design in the floors with tiles or use Brown tiles to look like a wood floor. Also the brick between the upper and lower window sills, doesn't appear to work with the rest of the house, maybe different windows or taller ones, just an observation.( I'm not that experienced to help here)

The furniture will use up a lot of ( in my book ) slopes and other pieces I never considered using before. :look: Good Luck in your new home to be!

Yes, it's 1,532 pieces right now. I don't think this one will ever be brought into real bricks.

I know that feeling...

The floor in the dining room is brown tiles, it would show up in a rendering. As far as the windows... I'm not sure if they're right either, but for now I'm going to keep them. With some landscaping in front it should look better.

Furniture is challenging to build well. Definitely an area I can improve on. :classic:

P.S. Houses similar to these are my inspiration for this project: http://www.ryvenco.com/images/community/a96e7f73.jpg

Wow, that's a huge project, looks very promising!

One suggestion would be to take into account what the facade will look like before the interior is finished. Usually the facade rules what's behind it. Otherwise you may recognize too late if the proportions don't fit. When taking a look at the photo it seems that the ground floor is a little elevated which I guess is typical of such a building. Also the design of the roof(s) might be important in this regard.

Looking forward to the further development of this!

Your home is looking better  , will it ever be in real bricks? I'm not very good at LLD, I can build from it, just not design with it.

I spend too much time on the PC anyway, unless your BI are there in front of you, on that PC! ( then I'm there all day long )

Sorry for such a late reply! It will never be in real bricks as it's 3,000+ pieces currently. I'm not the biggest fan of LDD either, maybe I need to stick to building smaller houses.
