Found a fun way to make huge lego classic simcity style rendering image. All we have to do is render every modules with same light and iso camera setting without background. Each module have to be render 4 times for 4 directions (N/S/W/E). Than just combine things together using image software.

Wow this is sooooo cool I want a complete city like this as a print to hang on my wall !

Thanks darksheep!

The actual render of this one is four stories only (22 min). Then clone it to become 8K pixels image.

This is really useful, thanks for sharing. Just one questions: how did you get such a large model to render in only 22 minutes? I've rendered stuff 20 times smaller than that and it takes just as long.

You are welcome. Use fast radiosity and model original LDD geometry will save a lot of rendering time.

Ah.. I haven't played around with radiosity very much yet, so I'll have to start experimenting.

How many floors does it have?

Top pic 1 x 2.5 floors

Mid pics 32 x 7 floors = 224 floors

Base pic 1 x 5.5 floors

2.5 + 224 + 5.5 = 232 floors in total

Nice thread! Too bad the recent SimCities are 3D or you could import those buildings as sprites. Even after 30 years, iso still looks nicer than most 3D.
