Hello,

Could you please help me? I'm looking for instructions for remote control on-road car chassis. This chassis should:

1. support for two M-Motors

2. support for front and rear diffs

3. support for front and rear shocks

4. support for steering with servo motor

Sorry if it is too much complex question.

I'm looking for just chassis (as easy as possible) not full car.

Many thanks for any info!

So, you want a chassis with four wheel drive and suspension, from your description. I've got a couple of questions that I'd like you to answer, and then I can help you better, or even whip something up just for you.

  1. What kind of wheels do you want to use? This will help me determine how big the car will be.
  2. What kind of suspension do you want?
  3. Do you want just front wheel or four wheel steering?
  4. Do you have any L motors? For any driving applications, L motors are much better.
  5. What kind of battery box do you have? Rechargeable, AAA, or AA?

Also, for most kind of on road Lego cars, suspension is not really needed, just a nice feature.

Thanks!

1. 44292 WHEEL 30.4MM D. X 20MM WITH 3 PINHOLES (TECHNIC RACING)

2. Any option

3. Just front wheel steering

4. I have 1 L-Motor, 3 M-Motors, 1 XL-Motor.

5. I have AA only.

Unfortunately I haven't experience to build custom car chassis and I don't know how to start. I'm looking instructions for full on-road car chassis with all basic mechanisms like suspension with shocks and differentials, steering and support for 1 or 2 drive motors. Of course It will be good if I can find some separate instructions for steering, chassis structure, suspension and power transmission and etc. I'm reading "The Unofficial LEGO Technic Builder's Guide". I'm learning basic concepts and would like to build simple chassis like that: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/vkyppwnsall/Technic/Datsun1600SSS/wip03.jpg. But there are no instructions for that.

Ok, if i'll have enough time i think I could make an LDD version of it (but I think i won't have), I also think that copy creations From photos is really useful: it is a really valid training, and you could learn to build modifing the creation if you don't have all the pieces of if some parts aren't showed in the photos ;)

arent these tires not a bit small? Actual steering hubs with option for 4wheel drive are to big for these rims with road tires. Ground clearance would not really exist.

also if you download LDD you can use the file he published and the LDD makes instruction for MOCs built in

Hey Guys, sorry for boring but have you some ideas, links to instructions or LDD, books about how to build on-road RC car chassis?

Here are my suggestions:

This one is basically bare bones, but i think it has everything you want. There should be enough pictures so that you can build the car.

This one is a little different. It does not have suspension, but it is more like an on-road car. This one does have instructions. The only thing you will most likely have to replace is the return to center steering (yellow piece in the front). I'd replace the m motor for steering with a servo motor and just make some kinda brace to hold in there.

With both, you should be able to use your wheels, if not modify the car.

If you need help, i will help ya out.

Thanks for your reply!

But these MOCs are too simple. I would like to build more complex chassis with basic RC car mechanisms:

1. support for 1-2 M-motors

2. support for front and rear diffs

3. support for front and rear shocks

4. support for steering with servo motor

Now I have the following sets for spare parts:

1. 42030 - VOLVO L350F Wheel Loader

2. 42029 - Customized Pick up Truck

3. 42005 - Monster Truck

4. 42022 - Hot Rod

+ two additional M-Motors.

Could someone please help me to find the instructions for on-road RC chassis (only chassis without body and etc.)?
