This is a bit unpleasant, so I decided to run this in separate thread rather than hijack the main review topic.

You see, there is this YT channel called "Brick Builder", just like the popular reviewer we all know, but obviously a copycat: https://www.youtube....kB54tI08Bbm8icw

Here, for reference, is the original Brick Builder's channel: https://www.youtube..../brickbuilder23

Now, I don't know who the copycat BB is, but he re-uploaded several of my recent reviews as his. I got them taken down, but it occurred to me that he may have stolen from you too. I doubt all his other videos are original, and I'm not able to identify all of them properly. So if you want to look through his stuff, here is all of it: https://www.youtube....8Bbm8icw/videos

By the way, does anybody happen to know this guy? Is this another case of "I had no idea I'm not supposed to do that" syndrome?

Guess so. He's got so much of it, I've reached the maximum limit of videos in the complaint form. Let's see how YouTube handles it.

We report all the videos on Youtube, soon this channel will be deleted.

Well done!

This seems so lowly for one to do, it seems odd that wasn't there is a watermark on your videos, but they were removed on his, maybe extend the period of the watermark... I bet most of his stuff is all copied from others, his channel will get shot down.

Also they use lego logo as avatar, video thieves at baddest form.Next time rather put some watermark at videos full lenght.

Looks like the videos I reported got taken down already. Good reaction time, YouTube! Still, there's plenty of stolen content left.

Isn't this par for the course? We are posting digital videos with zero DRM aside from maybe a watermark in the corner of the video or a title/credit screen with our name. It's trivial (although not right) for someone to grab a copy of it and re-upload it.

There are two piece of good news here: you found the unauthorized copy and there is a mechanism for reporting these infractions. The waste of your time is the only real loss here.

Given that the video still had your channel name in it, the additional views may actually be beneficial to you in the long run. You are still getting your name out there.

I'm not trying to justify the copyright infringement, just saying it's unavoidable (I had the same thing happen a while ago). You've been handed a lemon, so make lemonade.

Same thing happened to me... twice. What you have to do is file a copyright form against him. It'll take his channel down in a day or two.

Anyways, I gotta say Sariel... your reviews are fantastic!

Thanks, I will be uploading 42039B review tonight. I made some changes to how the speed build is filmed, I hope they'll work for you.

This has happened to me before as well and I actually had a great response from the YouTube administrators in resolving the issue. This guy also has a couple of JangBricks videos as well. Hope Jang knows.

i totally agree with all of you guys...

but i have to say that this guy has 28 subscribers...so technically almost no-one on this planet gives a f#%& about his channel lol

I absolutely don't mind linking or embedding my reviews :) It's only stealing that's not okay.

I am guessing you are fine with that because you will get more views?

(VIDEO)

His YouTube channel can be found here and contains a heap of really good LEGO Technic videos.

What do you mean linking?

I did 42009 detailed text review in the past, but inserted your videos (links to your channel) with note that video is "from Sariel". Is it bad for you?
