bitbang Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I think Metal Gear Solid would make for a very good theme in the lego world. I am wondering if you think they will ever consider it or what. I know it is an old classic game but it has a good number of fans and a cult like following. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 In one word……No I think the market might be a little small, I had no idea what MGS stood for until I opened your thread, then I had to check Wiki to find out more. I think the reality is Guns and Violence are not part of LEGO's Mission Statement, but I guess this is exactly what the LEGO Ideas site is all for, if the fans are out there, and they support a model you make, it would have a chance of being reviewed by LEGO. I didn't even think of that. It is amazing thought that they will allow Batman. I mean when you really think about it, Batman is not a good toy option for kids either. lol But I have to agree with what you said. I guess it being an old game I didn't think of the violence. MGS is too violent. I tend to forget legos are for kids first.. haha Quote
addemlit Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Have you ever been to Saber-Scorpions website? He makes MGS and other video game LEGO MOCs. He also makes custom decals for minfigs. I was into making my own custom minifigs from the first MGS game. I purchased a navy headband for Snake but never got around to the rest of his body. Quote
Phoxtane Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Apart from violence, I doubt Lego will go for MGS anytime soon - after all, do you *really* want a naked Raiden minifigure to cartwheel down a hallway with swords in hand? Quote

Oh no I haven't'! Thanks for informing me I will check them out. :D Apart from violence, I doubt Lego will go for MGS anytime soon - after all, do you *really* want a naked Raiden minifigure to cartwheel down a hallway with swords in hand? Yes. LOL Okay so I am having trouble finding his website, can you post the link? found it lol Edited January 5, 2015 by bitbang Quote
Faefrost Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Yeah between naked Raiden and Quiet (seriously Google up an image of her, it will answer all questions of why it ain't gonna happen.) I think this will be well on the list of never ever ever. Quote
badbob001 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 It's probably too violent, especially when the setting is a bit too close to real-life (military-wise). Of course, I don't even let my kids watch Star Wars Rebels because the killing of Storm Troopers is so casual in that show. Imagine Robin Hood massacring every time he stole for the poor. Quote

On the other hand, death is inevitable, and the sooner kids understand that, the better, right? Quote
bitbang Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 On the other hand, death is inevitable, and the sooner kids understand that, the better, right? Actually... They did star wars legos!! And there was death and guns and violence in that! I mean it may not have had gore but still. To me, violence is violence, red paint or not. lol Quote
